So, why does it take soooo long for them to tell you if you've been successful, or not, after a job interview?

I used to have hair and nails before last week

Just please put me out of my misery

Usually once a job has been offered it’s subject to various checks and references coming in. Once that has happened and it’s been accepted they let the other candidates know that they weren’t successful. This can take a few days to a week.

Hiding from twats

The last job I applied for, I emailed them after 2 weeks, nothing, got a friend who works there to email the week after, and was told I didn't get it. But it took an entire month for the official email to come through. That wait was horrendous.

. I joined the civil service almost 19 years ago I had my interview in January 2001 and they contacted me end of March 2001 to offer me the job and start date 6th April.Best of luck hopefully you will get the job

Thanks, my contract with HS2 expired last Friday, great timing huh?!

And so I'm waiting on this new contract as a start, and still applying for other positions until I hear something positive

Fortunately I have a little put away to tide me over, but I hate being unemployed

. I don’t think anyone likes been unemployed can be soul destroying.It’s good you have have something put away to tide you over.Dont be ashamed to claim Jobseekers Allowance Contribution Based it’s payable for 6 months as long as you have paid enough NI Contribution for the last 2 tax years.

For us it's waiting on the powers that be to agree salaries, waiting for DBS checks, references etc. It can be just as frustrating as the hiring manager who wants to know who and what is happening in their department and if we have enough people at the right time.
