But here goes.

Is swinging full of ego maniacs who require constant validation and their egos massaged?

Now I am not saying everyone as we have met some really great people,but whenever we go to clubs or parties there does seem to be more people who are always wanting to be center of attention.

The forum is also a great example of this.

Have I read it completely wrong and it's all just bravado and people hiding their insecurity and nerves behind a false persona??

Can I add that in general swinging is a pretty friendly community egos aside more so than lots of other situations.

This is just a question and not aimed at anyone in particular more of a general consensus?

I think clubs are just another place like a pub, throw alcohol and sex in and people become an exaggerated version of themselfs x

This is a large group of people. In any large group there will be lots who are narcissistic, lots who are kind and even lots who like pineapple on pizza.

Same if you took a group of office staff or dentists or whatever.

Also, people change - they will show kindness some of the time but they can still be a twat at other times.

I think egos usually hide many insecurities, my arrogance or ego will usually rear it's ugly head if I feel challenged or threatened, I'm working hard in taming it.

I think many people that use this site are confident or looking to improve confidence, when I've visited clubs the people have usually been quite amazing and grounded.

The main problem with forums is we all have a little keyboard warrior in us at times.

Or is it just a reflection of society today where constant validation and ego stroking is the norm difference being on fabs people are nekkid on Facebook it's holiday....... Whatever pictures or posts.

Some people do treat fab like a competition or, a popularity contest. Maybe an ego boost too, although I think we're all guilty of that at times.

Honest people, who are true to themselves, always tend to shine through though.

I love validation and for my ego massaged regularly! I also love to be the centre of attention!

I also hide my nerves and insecurities behind my persona!

I've seen it more on kik and once on a group social where people seemed to gravitate toward the 1 or 2 more outspoken people. I'm not sure if those people were more outspoken because they were more confident or even cocky, or if they just happened to be the more desirable of the bunch and maybe this gave them a need or an avenue to show off.

I think that swinging is just like every other walk of life, there are a myriad of different types of people. Some who conform to your stereotypes and many who don't too. I try my best to take people on face value.

I think it is easy to forget that a lot of people use fab as a form of escapism, from a large range of personal problems, relationship woes and a place to feel acceptance with their sexual interests, this can result in highly strung emotions flitting from person to person.

Don't forget the green eyed possession monster always has one eye open...

It's hard work sometimes to find a stable fab balance for a lot of people but that's part and parcel of this site, lots of highs and lows
