Two words. Nicola Adams. Brilliant athlete, great boxer and all round hero. Before her it was arguable boxing for women was a circus sideshow. After her no doubt about it - it's a sport for genuine athletes ith genuine csills and heart.

But it's a very brutal sport,at least 2 high profile male boxers died in last half of last year alone but got v little media coverage,not a fan of watching women thumping the heads off each other,some seem to love it though

There were some very capable and talented female boxers before her (Ann Wolfe was incredible) but I do think that the exposure herself, Katie Taylor and Clarissa Shields got from the Olympics has helped to give women's boxing a lot more exposure and legitimacy
