One study on the psychology of love has found that over 25 years of marriage the facial features of couples became more similar, as judged by independent observers.

This may be because of similarities in diet, environment, personality or even a result of empathising with your partner over the years.”

Any couples on here lived together 25+ years? Do you think you look similar? Do other people think you do?

Thank god I got divorced after 10 years. I look bad enough without morphing into a version of my ex husband

My inlaws did...when I first met them I looked at one and thought oh you look like your mum, then looked at his dad and thought oh, you look like your dad. It wasn't just odd bits he had the same, they had the same features.

However I did read somewhere that people are attracted to similar looks as their own, so it could have been that rather than growing to look like each other

Good point! I wonder if the study looked at that angle?

I don't think we look like each other. My parents who've been married 65 years don't look like each other either.

Outside observers might think differently though.

Your thread title is interesting though. I'd say that we are two sides of the same coin in some respects in that we're opposites in many ways but complementary at the same time iyswim.
