Does anyone else cringe when people say panties instead of knickers mind you I do like it when a female with an American accent says panties in a sultry way

I don't like and use the term myself - but it's what American's call them so doesn't surprise me it's creeping in here - in fact have heard American's laughing at the term "knickers" as being a terribly British thing to say, so it works both ways

Panties sounds sll a bit Jimmy Saville paedo to us.

Anyone's said that to Re and it's been an instant turn off for us both.

Mind you we accept that we can't all agree on everything.
