Let's settle this is he a giver or a taker or does he like both, considering how many times he has shot his fat into his wife thinking of other men, possibly a giver

Factual is fine. Making fun of someone who has probably made an extremely difficult decision to be honest, absolutely stinks

I wonder what the responses be had a lady come out as lesbian after all these years?

It's exactly this kind of thread and thought process that points out exactly why there is a long long way to go with LGBTQ acceptance.

The framing of the question as a 'joke' points out that you think there's something funny or worse, demeaning about gay sex.

Why is it, when someone starts a thread that folk don’t like, that people immediately question the OP’s sexuality, like insinuating that the OP must be in the closet or in denial about something themselves?

Maybe the OP is struggling with his own sexuality... and makes light of others who have had the strength to be honest... certainly seems that he is conflicted as he has a very keen desire to know a bit more about it....

1. The fact that someone has to "come out" to explain their sexual preference to complete fucking strangers proves that we have a long way to go still.

2. The fact that anyone fucking cares what someones sexuality is being personal gain is fucking ridiculous.

3. What exactly is a "muff diva"? To me it kind of indicates a rather hypocritical point of view/ stance WAF when people use derogatory terms or slang.

4. Its fun to joke/banter about sex. I love it as much as anyone else but this was not joking or banter. What this does do is show you who people really are.

It’s not insult to the majority it is an insult to the ignorant homophobic. I’m not insinuating OP is a homophobe but he has put himself out there for ridicule. People mentioned hate a lot on the forum yesterday... now a reply could be hateful which I don’t think it deserves, or it could be mildly a piss take .... and normally when confronted by such comments in life turning it back on the person normally stops them going any further with it

I've never understood why anyone has to come out. I personally don't care about their sexuality and neither should anyone else. It doesn't change that person.

It's not something I thought about but as the question has been asked, I think he will be a bumee not a bumer.

I take it that was directed at me. Why would a straight man even give a flying rats ass as to whether a gay man was a giver or receiver? Yes I think it's an unheathy obsession, especially if they go on to call people snowflakes for challenging the juvenille post - take and receive, yes ironic.

Now I believe the OP is probably a little regretful about the thread... it’ll go one of two ways

I get what you're saying, but I feel like it's basically doing what everyone has already criticised the op for, making a joke of him being gay as though it's something that should offend. And to be fair to him, it didn't.

"Now I believe the OP is probably a little regretful about the thread... it’ll go one of two ways

1. Apologise for any offence and end it

2. Think, I need to see this through or lose face

I wonder which it will be "

I hope it's number 2. Well metaphorically speaking it already is but you know what I meant......

"Why is it, when someone starts a thread that folk don’t like, that people immediately question the OP’s sexuality, like insinuating that the OP must be in the closet or in denial about something themselves?

I’ve never understood that...

I take it that was directed at me. Why would a straight man even give a flying rats ass as to whether a gay man was a giver or receiver? Yes I think it's an unheathy obsession, especially if they go on to call people snowflakes for challenging the juvenille post - take and receive, yes ironic.

"

Straight men can be sexually inquisitive as to the sex life of others though. Loving the juicy gossip of it all etc.

I just don’t think questioning his sexuality was really needed.

But thanks for explaining.

As though it's an insult

It’s not insult to the majority it is an insult to the ignorant homophobic. I’m not insinuating OP is a homophobe but he has put himself out there for ridicule. People mentioned hate a lot on the forum yesterday... now a reply could be hateful which I don’t think it deserves, or it could be mildly a piss take .... and normally when confronted by such comments in life turning it back on the person normally stops them going any further with it hey he's bi at best unless his children were by immaculate conception please don't get carried away with homophobic accusations hes made a harmless joke about our beloved bisexual phil its not the end of the world go have some Weetabix and chill

Read the post again. I didn’t say he was... I don’t know him and I’m sure he’s a really top chap.

And it’s always porridge for breakfast "

really theyre both not for me but give me phillips smiley face in the morning every time, lovely chap that he is and just because he likes to give a guy a blow job doesn't make him any less popular with me

I recognise that it was intended as humorous, that's the issue. Its the puerile thought process that sniggers at gay sex or considers someone who 'takes' as less that's the problem.

Dressing up and accepting derogatory views as 'banter' is the acceptable face of intolerance.

Nope.

People can write what they want, as long as it's not directly insulting (amongst other rules). Having a distasteful viewpoint doesn't result in a ban. It will result in blocks and reaction from others though.

So long as the discussion is about the topic, not the person, it should be OK.

I guess we've just moved on from sniggering at gay people. My son knew at eight years old that it was unkind and not funny. He loves all kinds of comedy and we watch hours of it together. This just isn't funny.

You don’t know anything about his private sex life, but somehow assume that you do, because you use your own criteria. So he has to have had multiple goes at “being gay” before deciding that he was.

I agree with this, this is if he stayed with her, there's no doubt he loves her dearly, My friend was with a man for 7 years and he's now with a woman he loves and has had a child to her, he's denied all knowledge of ever being gay,

So the only way he knows that ....he’s cheated on his wife multiple times, celebrating his coming out is one thing but surely we not supporting his cause for cheating

You don’t know anything about his private sex life, but somehow assume that you do, because you use your own criteria. So he has to have had multiple goes at “being gay” before deciding that he was. "

It’s unfortunate that people have to live a life without being able to be true to themselves. For him, it’s great that he can now be free of the angst over it all. It seems like it’s been difficult.

For his wife ... it’s just the start for her. Everything she knows has changed through none of her own doing. You don’t stop loving someone but it has certainly changed her life and she’s the one that family and friends should keep their eye on.

No but we do know he cheated his wife out of a descent marriage,

It sounds like they have had a very good marriage, he is supported by his wife and lovely daughters "

Smoke and mirrors, no ones knows what goes on behind closed doors. I had a wonderful marriage outdoors

OP. You can't just put gay men in two camps (no pun intended)

of givers and takers. Some may be as you describe, some may do both and some will not indulge ever in the act you allude to. This is not even Carry On or Benny Hill humour. That was far more sophisticated than that which is amusing you.

That was decades ago. First they came for Begum...... then they came for D'Campo......

I just find him highly irritating.

1. Other people aren't considering this.

2. No one gives a toss.

3. No person is remotely interested.

4. No one gives a shit."

The OP obviously does

The whole thread is on assumption, I’m focusing on the partner whilst others seem to be defending it celebrating a sexual realisation

Erm... OK. If that's what you believe that's fine. I think the thread states pretty clearly what myself and others have objected to.

It isn't what I believe, that is how gay men have sex.

It isn't against any rule to ask did gay men who came out think of men when doing their wife.

No, but it is something a mod would remove if someone objected. To clarify though, I am reading from the beginning, up to now I have only got to Grannies and a couple on the bottom, if your name has been used and you don't want it to be I can get to it faster as I still have the rest of the thread to read if you report the actual post or mail me which post it is

"Why is it, when someone starts a thread that folk don’t like, that people immediately question the OP’s sexuality, like insinuating that the OP must be in the closet or in denial about something themselves?

I’ve never understood that...

As though it's an insult "

Exactly that. Make a joke about gay sex and whether the man who came out thought of men when he had sex with his wife 27 years and whether he takes or gives and you get told off for being disrespectful to someone who has just come out....then you get told you must be a closet gay as if that is an insult.

I guess that would be disrespectful if you thought the first was
