Safe sex

Having just read a forum about someone turning a meet down as they wanted bareback sex. It got me thinking about how honest we are. for example A profile says safe sex only but is that always the case and are we honest with others that we have not always been safe and would people let others know they have had a STD.

Surely, if someone had caught an STI in the past - it should make them even more careful in the future...

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

I always assume people play bareback and protect myself accordingly.

If I had/or thought I might have an STI I wouldnt need to tell anyone because I wouldnt be playing.

We sometimes go bareback.. but state that on our profile.. We get a lot of requests from people that SCREAM SAFE SEX ONLY all over their profiles.. to go bare with us...

So no.. people aren't honest.. Not had it happen yet, but if we were unlucky enough to catch something we would tell anyone we had played with in the time frame before that.. and wouldnt play till we were all clear.

"Surely, if someone had caught an STI in the past - it should make them even more careful in the future..."

I spoke with a couple on the phone and they was very open about what they had, had it did not change anything for them at all which for me is a scary thought our health should be the most important thing and fun second. (we did not meet)

If someone has had an STI in the past...that would mean they are currently clean...if thats the correct word....if your clean why would you declare an emabarrasing earlier infection thats now dealt with ?? Would you declare diabetes or cancer...a stroke...all medical issues. OH and before any comments come...I have NEVER had an STI.

...The implication was that whatever had been caught - had been recovered from.

You could argue that diabetes should be mentioned - as there is an increased tendency towards thrush...

Maybe FAB should introduce a medical declaration page...and invent a little icon to display on profiles ???? or should be all just stick to no glove...no love ???

Spot on best way to go. So many are dishonest how they play its always best to assume they don't play safe and take precautions accordingly.

Yep. Just worry about you're own practices as you can't be sure of everyone else's.

" and would people let others know they have had a STD. "

if someone had had a STI and it has been treated and they are now all clear why would they need to let others know that?

Of course if they have one at the moment thats different, but if your talking having one in the past i dont see why they should bring it up on every meet so long as its is cleared
