Have been lucky enough to see some fantastic live performances but couldn't pick one...so in no particular order:

Muse - Etihad - 2014 (I think) was on the barrier at the end of the walkway and had a fantastic view for an awesome show.

Madness - Madstock, Finsbury Park 8th August 1992 - the day the band I've had a lifelong love affair with got back together and caused an earthquake

Foo Fighters - London Stadium - June 2018 - simply brilliant live band

Biffy Clyro - Belfast Nov 2016 - on the barrier in the middle and was blown away by just how good they were

Green Day - Hyde Park July 2017 - if Hyde Park had a roof it would have been blown off - simply immense.

The Beat - Hammersmith Palais Oct 1982 - one of the support bands (Aztec Camera) walked off halfway through their set - The Beat played an extended one and it still rates as one of my best gigs ever.

U2 - Don Valley Stadium 2009 (I think) - got in the inner circle for a simply magnificent gig

There are others but those really stand out

I’ve seen James far to many times to count... every show has been awesome - The Royal Albert Hall gigs definitely stand out for me.

Tom Petty and the heartbreakers bst Hyde park London. This was 6 months before he sadly died.

The Buzzcocks Leeds millenium square 2018 this was just before Pete Shelley sadly died.

I dont want Jeff Lynne to feel worried and just wondering why people keep offering me Ed Sheeran tickets.

Bruce Springsteen and the east Street band at Milton Keynes back in the 80s, I was working on the stage and was totally overwhelmed by the show, after the concert had a chat with the boss an amazing day and I was paid to do it.

The Light Bar, London May 2009 - the launch party for The Liberty Of Norton Folgate - playing to an invited audience of 150-200 people - consider myself very lucky to have been there.

The Roundhouse, Camden, Dec 2019 - celebrating their 40th anniversary - they were their own support band and played an initial "before we were famous" set of 30 minutes - then came back on to play a set laden with gems from across their career - was them back to their brilliant best

Loved the Macc lads Gigs at Rock city , I was 17 and never see anything like it before, everyone throwing pints of piss and spitting at them and then fighting in the streets after

This is such a difficult question. Recent(ish) Rudimental at Reading with Will Heard and Anne Marie on vocals. Oldies would be Tool supporting RATM at Rock city 1993

I agree about James. First saw them on a tiny stage at Glastonbury before they were well known and was spellbound by them. Seen them many times since, the last time in Liverpool a few years ago where they refused to play "sit down", I respected them for that.

The Duchess of York vicar lane Leeds, a proper old skool venue.

I remember going to see Matchbox at the fforde green and a few months later the Stray cats at the Warehouse. Also used to frequent the f club on call lane remember seeing the Teardrop explodes there, a night a remember for all the wrong reasons.

Eagles of Death Metal- secret women only gig at Raymond's Review Bar in Soho

QOTSA - anytime, anywhere. Josh H is my rock God and my not-so-secret man crush

Blur, Faithless, Oasis, the Prodigy, Portishead, White Stripes and Elbow, Vaccines, Carter USM, Ash and a 100 others - every time I've seen them all.

Sooooo many after 35 years of gigs and working at Wembley as a student it's just too difficult to pick a fave.

I'm probably another in the foo fighters fan club, you just tend to leave their gigs on such a high from the atmosphere

My favourite live gig was stone Rose's at the carlisle sands centre. Never seen such a small venue feel so electric as the crowd were properly full of fans

And the other band I'd like to give a good mention to was the one who got me into live music - black rebel Motorcycle club - saw them in sheffield in 2007 at the lead mill fell in love with live music

I've been to so many great gigs it's hard to pick a best one, but here's a few

Rammstein - for sheer spectacle no other live band comes close, the pyrotechnics are outstanding! Will be seeing them for the third time this summer.

The Rolling Stones - saw them in Manchester 2018 and they were great, the whole band was on form and played really well. Jagger was always taking the piss out of himself between songs which was funny as I expected him to take himself really seriously.

AC/DC - saw them at the Etihad in 2016, outstanding stage and finally getting to see Angus Young doing his thing live was a bucket list thing for me. Axl Rose had stepped in for Brian Johnson and Malcolm Young had left for health reasons so his nephew had stepped up, but they were still outstanding.

Guns n Roses - saw them in London a few years ago, was great to see the band back together with pretty much the original line up, and they put on a hell of a show with none of the diva behaviour from Axl they were previously known for.

Airbourne - they are like I imagine AC/DC were in the 70's, just pure fist pumping rock n roll that has to be seen live, the pit is wild when they're on! The front man is a lunatic in a good way and they just put 100% into every show. I've seen them six times now and always try to catch them when their tours bring them to the UK.

The first time I saw Sabbath at Monsters of Rock- my rock God was on the stage! Amazing experience, hearing all the songs I grew up with live, I cried, haha x

slayer in 1996 south of heaven tour..was an audio assult..

the best gig i was at was deff, gong un-convertion in amsterdam ..was an anniversary gig and all the original band(apart from the drummer)was there..was like a religious experiance

Saw pink at the o2 and she was amazing.

Seen nickelback and again they are fantastic live.

A little known band named skillet are also really great live.

But probably the best all round live performance has to have been Bon Jovi. Even had the fun of seeing their 06 tour when the support act was nickelback. Now that was a show

Ian Brown used to come into the music shop I worked in when I was younger. Always seemed a nice, laid back guy..

I've seen slipknot being mentioned a lot on this list, they do look awesome live though I've never seen them in person.

One thing I've noticed is that the venue can make a big difference. For instance when I went up to watch Nitin Sawhney at the glasgow jazz festival, the sound itself was terrible...so muddy & unclear (it was at a venue called the arches)..so i was very underwhelmed by the gig even though i love nitin sawhney's music.

(A lot of recent gigs i've enjoyed have been at intimate, small settings.)

One that sticks in my mind over the last year or so, was Eddie Reader. It was in a smallish venue in Cheshire, the sound was brilliant- crystal clear. I thought she was an amazing singer & storyteller.

I went to a gig that I found in timeout magazine in the 100 club It was an all girl punk band named Fluffy. They were pretty good, things got a little heated and they asked if I could look after their equipment for 15 mins onstage after they finished. Having prevented there gear getting nicked or damaged, I was invited back stage which is only a small room to the back of the 100 club, for a beer.

All the bands that have played there have scrawled on the wall. I got invited to the after event party, and from there became friends with them all. I got free tickets to see the Sex Pistols at Finsbury Park and the virgin 1996 festivals. On those I had VIP passes, met Gary Numan, Jarvis Cocker of Pulp, Elastica, Denim, Supergrass.

Seeing the Pistols at Finsbury Park was just mad, I will never forget that one.

As a youth I was lucky enough to see The Clash, The Cramps four times and a little known band called Sudden death Cult supporting Theatre of hate who went on to become The Cult. The Meteors and King Kurt were always good for a laugh. I have always been pretty blessed with seeing some great bands, they were all good in their own way.

Awesome night, queuing to get in across the carpark entrance chanting 'we kill businessmen' at the drivers trying to get out, missing the night bus home ...

Saw them later at the same venue with Mikey Dread as support, Ian Duty came on for encore....missed the bus again.

Seen so many bands on so many tours at least 2-5 gigs year but my favourites are:

U2 pop was amazing show of how huge band can do it

Radiohead kid a tour in a circus tent

Blur great escape my first real gig I ever went

Skunk anansie amazing band live and energy plus support was muse who first album had just released

Nine inch nails ever gig of 4 seen just wow

Gorillaz wow the sound and music was incredible

Stereophonics seen every tour and just wow amazing sound and always perfect

Smashing pumpkins the adore tour which was the last end of tour was wow I was deaf for days due to sound and felt amazing

Ok that was a lot and still loads more including bands I played gigs with like zutons I supported before signed and changed their style, or uk subs I did sound engineer for at small bar in Liverpool late 90’s

Mumford are amazing I used hate the music then my dad who loves em wanted tickets for the wilder minds tour so I got em and I went as he always goes every gig with me since 1994 and wow my opinion of em was changed by like song 3-4 the way played live and sound then I got really into em esp the wilder cd cos the heavier sound and we went delta tour which is awesome an even the delta special launch party with national geographic
