couple, us we him her.

Getting sick of not finding anything new to watch on the million and one channels available.

Decided it's time to start reading again.

I go through phase's about every five years where I will just binge read for about six months so I am well overdue

Don't like any of the following genres.

Romance

Crime

Autobiography

Historical

Teen shit like hairy plopper

Or war stuff.

Very much like

Sci-Fi fantasy horror.

Example being

The necroscope series of books.

Brian Lumley

The Joe ledger series patient zero...

Hp Lovecraft books

Clive Barker.

Basically ,dark , sinister, fantasy, gruesome.

I'd rather a series of books if possible.

Cheers

Richard Laymon - Beast House Trilogy.

James Herbert - currently listening to The Secret Of Crickley Hall, good old fashioned ghost story.

Stephen King - Needful Things.

Read all of James Herbert (RIP) years ago

And can't stand Stephen king but thanks anyway.

May revisit my James Herbert collection.

Get into the wheel of time. That'll keep you busy for a year and they are making a series on it so you can be ahead of it.

(By far one of my favorite series ever. Its fantasy. Done right.)

I'm having a bit of a James Herbert thing ATM too. I read 48 for the first time the other week too, not his normal thing but I was gripped. I fancy rereading the Ash trilogy again. Haunted, Ghosts Of Sleath and Ash.

Richard Adams "Maia". Set in a fantasy empire, story of a female pleasure slave. Opulent, engaging and incredibly erotic.

I'd suggest anything by Brent Weeks, the Night Angel trilogy is pretty gritty fantasy and the Lightbringer series is ongoing but phenomenal!

Third recommendation for Wheel of Time.

I've just started re-reading the Belgariad by David Eddings. The Sword of Truth series is great too and that will be a long read (21 books)

Hillside desolate

I'm currently reading 20000 leagues under the sea and enjoying it, after that I might try the wheel of time books, I'd recommend Philip k Dick and Neil Gaiman.

"The Culture series by Iain M. Banks"

This is brilliant reading, but it sounds to me like it wouldn't be dark or gruesome enough for the OP.
