So, I decided (after an incident trimming) to go completely shaved around my bits, first time was fine, lovely and smooth, great feeling, but then obviously it started to get a bit stubbly, last night after shaving again it looks not unlike a freshly plucked turkey.

Does anyone have any pointers to where I went wrong, or ways to stop it happening again?

I can't get a clean shave either whether it's my face or privates.

Always apply aftershave afterwards

Do you moisturise after?

It's always gonna look a bit like a plucked chicken in fairness but feels great

Shave with baby oil and moisturise a couple times a day with an after shave cream preferably with no smell or lightly fragrance should be ok

For your groin area, sad to say but it will get easier the more you keep it all shaved.

Use hair conditioner on them after shaving to reduce some of the burn and rinse it off well.

Wait a couple of hours to moisturise as the pores will still be open and you dont want moisturiser in them.

And always use a good shaving foam/gel with a fresh blade.

Dont go against the direction of growth on your upper area either as this is a guarantee of razor burn.

Before I started waxing I always had to grow it back at least 5mm between shaves otherwise it would just be a bloody sore mess.

My husband uses his cut throat razor too shave my bits. Then rubs cream on it and I never suffer from any kind of shaving rash. X

Before shaving apply scrub cream/lotion. Rinse it off and use indeed plenty of foam and a fresh blade.

I've tried everything bar lazer and always break out, I think it's how you are shaped, I've found that I can cope with lips and undercarriage off but leave front on, but stupidly took it all off last weekend, exfoliate, and use conditioner to shave with, with a fresh blade, and if need be a lil hydrocortisone if break out, I've tried for years never gonna have that porn star smooth so will be trim or not at all now

Thanks all, I have been using foam, and aftershave balm after, but maybe the blade was a bit dull, and the balm was straight after, I’ll try some of the advice, other than aftershave!! I know how much that kills on your face lol

I shave the sacks and around the shaft in the shower, no prep or after treatment, always nice and smooth

Go side on to the grain. Fully pull the skin taught.

And for goodness sake if you're going full on bald do your sack and crack. It just looks weird with no hair on top but bushy balls.

I always use hair conditioner, works great. Work against the growth and fresh blade.

If you want completely smooth try waxing. Shaving you get a day max of smoothness which means to be smooth all the time shaving daily or twice daily in some cases.
