Invented climate model has been used as facts.

I saw an interesting thing about it here it is, when the ipcc climate panel released its fifth report in 2014, researchers presented four examples of scenarios that describe what carbon dioxide emissions could look like during the rest of the century now it is revealed that the researchers most alarmist example rcp8.5 has been used incorrectly and that the climate situation is not at all as serious as it has been presented in thousands of reports.

What is your view of it? I kind of knew this before hand that it is not as serious as they say it is. I wonder why they feel the need to make it up.

It's the only way to get people to move, I suppose. I mean, just looking out the window you can see that we've already made a mess of the planet's climate. But people need to be pushed to act, and not just say "ah, well, it's alright anyway, innit?"

Hopefully we can still stop it before we literally break everything

Aren't all forecasts and models made up?

That's the point. You can only know when the event has occurred.

And don’t they say a big enough eruption would cool the planet by a few degrees ? So is cutting emissions warming the planet? And I always notice it’s always cooler when it’s cloudy! Are we being fed a pack of lies?

Right, with "window" I meant the world around you in general.

I'm from the far north, where it is very obvious that the winters aren't what they were 15 years ago. And everything is shifted around.

Also the massive forest fires we get every year nowadays, the droughts, and the worsenings of the hurricanes and such. The climate is obviously changing, if one just does a comparison stretching further than three years

97% of climate scientists believe humans are causing global warming and climate change, but good to see some of you are staunchly sticking with the 3% who don't.

Read the research, seriously.

Clouds consist of water vapour which is a greenhouse gas. Water vapour does have the effect of a blanket holding heat in. That's why you get frosts on clear nights.

Sea temperatures are rising, ice sheets are melting. Desertification is increasing. These are just the most obvious effects. The increased severity and frequency of extreme weather events, the larger and more widespread forest and Bush fires ... all warning signs.

We have, but the frequency and severity is unprecedented (so far as recorded history goes)

CO² levels are higher now than at any other time in human history, and beyond.

"

Well that's obvious as there are more humans living now than any point in history, and humans are not 'solely' responsible for water vapour in the atmosphere, it's a natural occurance.

Indeed, the climate is always changing. What has really changed in the last few decades is the way we view and record the weather and climate. Satellites, digital images, computers. Instant and dramatic news coverage with live images. Decades ago the fires in Australia would perhaps have made the newspapers with a grainy mono image.

However, we all need to do our bit. I would suggest by being lest wasteful and certainly by reducing plastic and throw away packing of all types.

Also by an immediate and global ban on all forms of motorsport. It’s all a bit old hat now, they drive around a circuit, some win a trophy, spray some Champagne, boring!

Look in the early 80s my school books told me that we had just finished a mini ice age. And the planet going to get warmer weather till the next mini ice age.i was also told there be no more oil or coal and by the year 2000 we all be driving electronic cars and living on the moon.

The last few days on Google it's been saying that we are about to go into a new mini ice age. As the sun getting cooler.

One person saying it's getting warmer and one person saying that it's getting cooler.

Here is the simple fact we have to many people.

In India they spent billions on having aircraft carriers and space rockets. Or in South Africa the government spent billions on themselves and kicked out the white farmers. Now they can't feed themselves. I watched the news last week and some fools was out blocking roads then later on 90% of them got in their cars and drove home.

Anyone who doubts that climate change is a real problem only needs to look around. It wasn't that long ago that winters involved significant snowfall and prolonged periods of sub zero temperatures.

This winter i've been faced with 4 frosty mornings, just one hail storm and no snow whatsoever. Only a fool would think it's not a real thing.

Because simple fact that we was coming out of a mini ice age.Do you not read history books it's all over them. Britain mini ice age.

But in more closer history a few winters ago half of Northern Ireland was snowed in.last year we had a good few days of snow. This year nothing.

We only had around 3 white Christmas in the last 100 odd years. But mostly it's just been cold and wet and windy.

Throughout the earth's long history changes in climate have taken thousands of years, not 50. I read books, the ice age argument is a complete red herring touted by global warming deniers.

of course we are changing the world, what should we all do, kill ourselves, that is the only real answer, no humans=no polution, but thats not realistic, so we have to accept that we are changing the planet, and work with it, but im not sure paying lots more tax for green things is the answer, it gets votes tho

The paper you quote points out that the scenario you name as been given disproportionate weight made even more unlikely by technological changes since but...

"So rather than a world that warms by 6C, it should mean that the world will warm by around 3C based on current policies that countries have signed up to.

However, the authors are at pains to point out that the lower temperatures aren't guaranteed.

That's because scientists are still uncertain as to how sensitive temperatures are to CO2. New models are being used for the next set of major projections due from the IPCC next year. Those models are said to show that temperatures are more sensitive to CO2 than previously thought."

It appears we as a planet still have a problem that needs addressing

All climate models are just that, models. It is very difficult to accurately predict patterns that are changing on a timescale of millions of years. And it's only in the last hundred years that we've been collecting accurate reliable data.

To me, climate studies are a relatively soft science compared to the precision of chemistry or physics, for example.

However, it is undeniable that human activity is contributing to global warming. Maybe it is a small perturbation compared to a million year cycle, maybe it is large enough to cause an unnatural catastrophe. It is undeniable that humans are negatively shifting the balance and this cannot be a good thing.

That is right we do contribute abit and could cut down on the cars and transport but the natural cycle can be very powerful to change the climate and seasons of how it was, it can be warmer and cooler on times it shouldnt and then at other times you get a longer winter with alot of snow or a very warm summer than normal
