I realise we are all pretty broad minded on here. But when your in a committed relationship theres boundaries to adhere to.

So please define what Cheating means to you if your in a relationship

Single.

Doing something against the wishes and feelings of your partner. Breaking their trust and respect.. I would define as cheating.

Anything you have to do or hide from a partner, even messaging imo. If its behind the partners back its cheating

Why??

I’ll define being in a loveless, sexless relationship with an abusive ex and finding someone to make me feel attractive was a life saver ... did I cheat? Yes ... was it wrong ? No

There are many reasons why people are on here and I think defining it sometimes does more harm than good

It’s all good though as you’re all female - it’s obviously HIS fault!

It’s only the men that are utter scum in similar circumstances, and the women are obviously the victims.

I was in a very similar situation for most of my thirties and I stayed faithful. And I regret it and wish so much that I'd done what you did.

Every person’s definition of cheating is different. From an “innocent” flirty text to a work colleague to a full on shagfest with someone who isn’t your partner.

But what one person will overlook is another’s dealbreaker.

Doing things behind your partner's back which involves other people without their knowledge, keeping it a secret without telling them (unless a surprise lol) can be physical or emotionally cheating

Actually, I know men too that it's happened to, it's not just a female thing, men just aren't known to say

I certainly wouldn't. The judgment of men on here always assumes that the wife or girlfriend is being faithful and I don't know why. Because I'd never assume that based on zero evidence

I agree. Call it cheating if you want to tick a box and that makes you happy. However deciding if it’s a bad thing or not means looking a little deeper.

I think there are some cases you might decide it’s justified and others where it isn’t. Difficult to accept in this world where soundbites, outrage and polarised answers are all we have

Cheating is anything you need to hide from your partner, if you need to hide it don't do it.

Having been married and in an open relationship I'm not sure I believe in monogamy. Part of me thinks it's just a really nice idea that doesn't work in real life. But obviously people make it work and I think they do that by both taking responsibility for making sure their partner is happy and content. I don't think it's an automatic right. Marrying someone and then neglecting them but still expecting them to be faithful "just because" doesn't seem reasonable or workable to me. If you make the effort and provide what they need but they still look elsewhere out of selfishness and wanting to have everything their way then that's not very admirable, I agree. But it's just as bad if you're male or female.

If you know what you're doing is going to hurt your partner. Then it's cheating and it's bad because it hurts your partner and you're doing it. If you can not see that hurting someone is bad then empathy and trust are not in that relationship and it is therefore pointless.

Whilst my partner doesn't meet or get involved in any way if I met someone away from the boundaries we have set that would be cheating as it would be done behind his back

Lots of excuses and biased reasons given here. I've been cheated on, and her excuses were fucking shite. And it destroyed me, as it turned out I wasn't in the wrong.

As far as I'm concerned, if you're unhappy/stuck in abusive relationship etc end it. Simple.

Cheaters are cheaters. These threads are good for blocking people

To me cheating is when you have an emotional or physical connection, with someone else, behind your partner's back.

hi.I just wanted to know what peoples views are on the subject. As its happened to me and among many other things my ex Gf has done. She came home after a works do and said she had just had the best kiss ever with a female colleague. The other females Husband watched it in the pub. She said they both asked her to come home with her. when she told me it didn't bother me at the time and i said you should of gone home with them.she also said i have something else to tell you aswell. I have just done a line of . Her pussy was wet through and we had sex 4 times that night and i was even woken by her playing with herself. The day after i was horny as hell and so was she. we chatted about it 2 days later and i was encouraging to her to do it again. she declined and said she didnt want to do it. I felt that she has just now had her cake and eaten it.

We are not together anymore as this issue was just another problem to add to our relationship.

This mirrors my thoughts on cheating.

I've experienced this - ex partner was messaging/exchanging images with 3 ladies whilst accusing me of cheating.... His behaviour towards me drew my attention hence how I discovered him.

I'd say cheating to me is my partner doing something behind my back that he wouldn't tell me about. So it could even be something small like him just looking at nudes etc, but if he feels like he has to keep it hidden from me then he's crossing a line in our relationship.
