If you're not interested then let's pass this one by.

By popular-ish demand, let's talk beauty. What do you like? What don't you like? Recent purchases, discoveries, rediscoveries? Techniques, troubleshooting?

All welcome who want to be constructive. There's no right or wrong, no correct way to make yourself look or feel beautiful. You do you.

You mean Nyx? I do love me some Nyx products. Although I've discovered the killer thing for my circles is a slightly yellow for my skintone concealer (I'm about NW20 in Mac so I use NC20)

Once my eye stops hurting and I can eliminate the possibility of an eye infection, I'm itching to play with my makeup again.

I treated myself to nail extensions. They looked really good for a few days then cracked and were just a bloody mess. Wrecked my nails underneath ans was a complete waste of money.

I am seeing a friend soon so will need to go through it again. I want to look my best. But would ever go back to that salon.

I'd love natural good nails but sadly that isn't the case.

Ooh ouch.

There are nail treatments and vitamins which can help with that supposedly, along with diet.

I have to admit my diet could do with a rethink. But I've never had good nails.

I think it's called something like Biotin, the vitamins? Certainly you can get hair and nail supplements.

For the face-

"Balmonds intensive facial oil"

if you have itchy or dry skin.

(With rosehip and lavender)

From Holland & Barrett

-was recommended to me & is very good.

I've tried 7 skins this morning. It's a Korean skincare routine for dull and dry skin. So, basically you use a gentle hydrating toner and layer it on seven times in a row.

I tried it this morning using a Liz Earle instant boost toner as my skin is awful and so dry lately and my skin feels so much better and it still has a glow to it even though it is 6 hours later. It hasn't gone oily either, it feels plumper and hydrated.

If you've got sensitive skin I wouldn't go straight for seven layers, maybe two or three to see how your skin reacts. I'm well impressed though! I think I'm going to add this into my nighttime routine and see if I can notice a big difference in a couple of weeks.

Instead of extensions try getting your natural nails dipped. It doesnt harm them like extensions and gives your natural nails strength xx

Sorry for being dumb what's is dipped? My nails are in poor condition at the moment and keep breaking, sounds like it might help?

I've never tried it but The Ordinary Caffiene solution is meant to work miracles!

I'd recommend getting a concealer that is much lighter in colour than your foundation and using a beauty blender to gently dab and blend it under your eyes if you don't already. And you could try colour correcting concealer too? I think it is orange for dark circles.

Damn, a subject which I need to learn more about.

I have really sensitive skin, so i don't wash my face with soap - just water. I don't shave either as my skin goes red, etc.

I use hydrocortisone - I shouldn't but it helps so much. I also use Aveeno. Most other products cause flare-ups. No idea why.

Long term use of hydrocortisone will thin your skin, so try and limit it. Have you tried Neal's yard rose facial oil? It's amazing on sensitive skin, brings down the redness and soreness.

I'll try the orange colour and see if that works. I've tried lighter concealer and it doesnt work. The dark under my eyes is really bad x

Yeah, I've heard that about hydrocortisone, but my skin flares up badly sometimes and I feel as though I need to use it.

I've just bought some of that oil. Thanks.

And baby bum cream can also help too if it's irritated also, just use sparingly

Orange is a good mask for hiding the blue shadow for dark haired cd/tv's so should work for under eye dark circles.

My under eye bags/ circles are usually pretty minor and I often ignore them (feel free to throw things at me, etc). I do find there's a challenge between concealing them and the concealer getting stuck in my (teeny tiny- yes, throw things) under eye/ cheek bone wrinkles. I was always told orange or yellow against blue things to conceal.

I have another thread for it but- on this one I utterly fail at girl, please help me. I have thickish (fine hair but a lot of it) wavy, tending frizzy hair. If I grow it out, how do I take care of it? How much maintenance is it, given I'm a regular gym goer and sweat like holy hell?

Haven't decided what I'm doing. It's at that annoying phase where I'm almost ready to take my own damn scissors to it. aargh
