I’m too old for you.

I hear this often, par for the course when your preference is for older ladies.

However, I always think it’s a funny way of saying it because, we’ll my preference is older so no, you’re not too old for me.

Shouldn’t it be, you’re too young for me?

I preempt the issue by preventing anyone under forty from messaging me. Once I hit fifty it'll probably drop to 45.

Hmm, I get that and I don’t generally message people who I m out of the age range of. But a few socials and fun meets has started with ‘I’m too old for you’ only for that to not be the case.

I think it might be a confidence thing, too?

I don't agree, if im not interested i will say so. If i say you're kinda young for me it's a just a means to open conversation and find out your true maturity level.

I used to believe that but was eventually persuaded to give a younger guy a chance.

No regrets

I’m sorry King Gary, I have to disagree. I find lots of people are up front and honest if I’m not for them - it’s not personal. You don’t walk in to a bar and all the women fancy you, it’s just preference.

Same with age but I do find the ‘I’m too old for you’ quite funny.

Ha. Not my confidence! But it may be a line which is used in a way by someone with low confidence who doesn’t believe why a younger guy is attracted to them... maybe I’m wrong, though.

Someone told me 'I'm not what you need'

He was wrong.

Maybe he should have said 'you're not what I need' or 'I don't understand why you want me'

But he's not in a place to make the first call.

So I agree with you. Yes. They should say 'you're too young'

I guess it’s just personal preference. Could you explain, though, what you mean by that?

Because do you always look for someone who is exactly your age? Or five years or so younger is ok?

Most of my socials/meets have been with men younger than me.

If I’ve declined it’s usually for a different reason not based purely on age.

Maturity levels, banter and respect play a huge part

I think for many women on FAB, there has to be a cut off point. Otherwise, the messages received would be ridiculous. From my own experience I find guys younger than 35 are a bit hit and miss, maturity wise. That's why my filters are set as they are.

However, at clubs and organised socials I may meet guys under 35 who I get on with. Therefore, I'm happy to play with them.

I just dont have the time or the patience to sift through all the dross that I get in my inbox.

No hun, I think there's a lot in that. I've known plenty of beautiful women who thought that and it was certainly no mystery to me why a younger guy might want them. From my point of view it's a personal preference and not any kind of reflection on younger guys lacking anything. It's certainly true that men old enough to be your father are much less mature than you

That’s very kind of you, thank you.

I try to consider all things before opening my mouth. But I don’t know whether that’s maturity or not?!

This younger guy certainly appreciates your pictures, though!

So when i was a teen, older was definitely cooler

Now.. Maybe confidence? Why would a 20/30/40 year old guy wanna fuck a 50 year old woman when 20/30/40 year old women are so gorgeous?? I would feel.. Hmmmm.. Worried about living up to expectations ..

I think, there in lies the stumbling block. You’ve compared yourself to a 20/30/40 year old woman. I’m not comparing you to them.

My preference is, generally, for older women, there’s more than just a physical attraction but a mental one, too.

Generally speaking, from my experience anyway, ‘older’ women have been better sexual partners for me, than women my own age.

So to compare yourself to 20/30/40 year olds, you’d come out on top

Younger guys can definitely be huge fun to chat with, a lot of guys my age have realised things like South Park are immature and silly. Unfortunately, I haven't so I have had brilliant chats about TV and comedy with younger guys

I always meet younger guys as I just cannot find guys older than me or around my age that I'm attracted to.

But, sometimes, if a younger guy I'm terribly attracted to wants to meet me, I kind of have a panic attack and start to question why they would want to as at the moment I feel like Mrs Blobby. Also, some younger guys look more like boys without being rude. It's a bit hit and miss with younger guys as age doesn't necessarily mean no experience/ experience.

We do get quite few approaches from younger men and couples but do underline the age difference. Always check that the lady of the ream is equally as keen , it’s often the case she is not . Last thing we want is meeting and that look of , oh yes they are quite old !
