Romance is dead

It has been reported that romance is dying and that card and gift giving is a thing of the past.

With Valentines Day being very soon, will you be making an effort?

Also do you still send birthday/Valentine cards, or do you send a text, or post a message on social media?

If you love someone you show them all year round valentine's Day is so commercialised xx

Yes I will be sending a card but it doesn’t have to be February 14th to let people know you care about them.

We do Valentine's and give cards but it's the little things throughout the year that really show how much you love someone.

We've got a few days away in the week after Valentine's Day, so will probably have a special meal out while away. Everywhere is overpriced and overbooked on the day.

At the very least they’d get a card.

I love a bit of romance, but it should be part of the relationship anyway, not just because it’s Valentine’s Day.

If you're putting effort in for valentine's day then its important not to forget the equally important date a month later.

No one to send a card too! I love romance! I once sent my ex 11 valentines cards which had 101 reasons why I loved him in them!

We will make an effort, it's our anniversary 2 days before.

We are often romantic anyway, Ash often puts little notes in my lunchbox and recently he brought me some heart shaped washing up sponges.

If I send one it’s normally a fun joke one to a mate and not romantic at all, quite the opposite

I'd rather show love in ways that aren't dictated by the need to sell crap you don't need because everyone else is doing it.

I wont be partaking in valentines day for romance, but I do send one to my daughter- just a bit of fun.

As for the second part of the question, close friends and family yes, I do still send cards x

That's how we feel but I still think it's cool that other people enjoy it. My ex husband used to make a big fuss about it and it was very sweet.

I'm incredibly romantic. At valentine's and other times. I love spoiling my partner's, whether with little gestures like small gifts or meeting them with their favourite drink or food etc

Same, but I'm a believer if you love someone show them everyday. But it is nice to spoil someone you care about and make them feel special for the day. Enhance the love per say. Enjoy all.

Don’t think it’s dying , people are more aware that sending a card and overpriced roses on the 14th of feb , is pointless. Does it mean you love them more ? Nope your just making Clinton’s and Interflora more profit
