A) lean forward to give them a better cleavage shot?

B) ignore it?

C) tell them off and make them delete it?

Someone took a cheeky pic of my cleavage on the train but they obviously didn’t realise their flash was on!

I knew a guy who used to take photos of women's bottoms in public places and post them on a fetish site. I tried in vain to explain that that really, really wasn't OK but he couldn't understand what he was doing wrong if they didn't know. But it isn't OK, is it?

As someone who spends a lot of their time taking photos, I can say that it’s entirely inappropriate and it may even be illegal. I can entirely understand why someone might be distracted, but to take a photo? That just isn’t normal.

There was a post on facial recognition software use the other day and many didn't care. We really ought to have tougher protections of our privacy. After leaving the EU, I expect a reduction in our rights overall

It's not illegal if you're in a public place.

The law only applies to private property where you can reasonably expect privacy or if someone is attempting to take inappropriate photos (hence the recent new upskirting laws). Its not even illegal to photograph children which many don't realise.

Anyone with common sense will always ask for consent (street photographers etc.) But if you damage anyone camera or phone it's you on the wrong side of the law. Even the police can't force someone to delete a photograph.

Yep. If someone is zooming in and deliberately taking a cleavage shot that's covered under the same law. The grey area would be someone taking a photo in a public place where someone happens to have cleavage on display. Happens all the time in bars, clubs and beaches. Intent is key but proving it is a legal minefield - as you say it's 'likely' to be the case but unless there's evidence (a file full of similar photos on a phone or laptop) to prove it it's not going to result in a conviction.
