It’s almost upon us.

I’m heading to the Aviva on Saturday for the Irish game. Keen to see what the Farrell era brings. I like the squad he’s picked.

I hope it’s a great tournament and looking forward to the craic with you all.

I’m Scottish and I am not looking forward to it!

Finn is missing and if we don’t play at Murreyfield we have no chance, I just hope Ireland don’t put 50 on us which could be done easily with the team they have. On a brighter note I do think we will retain the Calcutta cup! x

Why won't Ireland be in the top half? We should beat Scotland, Italy, France (depending on which team they bring...as usual) and wins against Wales and England aren't complete off the charts fantasy...

I'm going for

1. Wales

2. England

Wales and Ireland to win today - I fear Scotland will get the wooden spoon cause we have still not recovered after the World Cup - Finn Russell behaving like a wee prick doesn’t help I actually would never pick him for Scotland again - as for tomorrow I have a sneaky wee feeling France will win

"As much as I the Welsh team AWJ has a special place in my heart, but today I really want to see Italy start well, 20 years is a long time to keep plugging away and all they do is get splinters off all those wooden spoons

Would love Italy to get a win or two in this championship."

It would make it a lot more exciting is all 6 teams were on top form

Newcastle and Gateshead

i like the idea of playing george north at 13... big boy with lots of pace... but defensively those 2 mini italian breaks went straight down norths channel.....

a better back line takes advantage of that all day

A slowish start but a solid win

Set piece needs sharpening up

All in all a positive performance but we'll need to get out of second gear next week

We've got a lot more of that to come

It will

England and Ireland away are always tough shouts

It will be very interesting to see how France perform tomorrow

I fancy them to be tricky customers this year and with Suaun Edwards as defence coach things are going to be a lot different to the France of last year

John Cooney is one.... far superior to Murray. He has had an absolute stormer of a season with Ulster both in the pro 14 and the ECC. He is one positive Ireland should be using heavilly to their advantage
