Were changing all the time and also able to make decisions at any time too. If you'd benefit from taking some decisions that will start your life beginning today, you'd probably be wise to do so, whatever your age.

Yes, I think that's true.

And for many people it's when their kids are older, and they start to question why they don't just have fun.

You also lose respect for the social mores, and are more inclined to say "fuck it'!

My life really began when I started swinging, I've met the best people, had the best experiences and it's one of the best things I ever did.

Genuinely my life has been shit since 40...divorce, two failed relationships, a serious health problem last year that I’m recovering from....

Still, you’d never know to look at me and I still get comments from people who think I haven’t got to 40 yet!

Hoping my 40s start fairly soon

Really? When you let go of your hang ups, chill out and let yourself down the things you want to do, that's when life really begins.

Been there, done that, got repeatedly kicked in the face. Funnily enough, the hang ups, anxieties and depression came flooding right back.

Your life begins when you accept who you are and follow your dreams.. work hard and be kind.. money follows money coruption follows corruption and kindness follows kindness.. it dont always work like this but at the same time.. not in this day and age but many years ago if you was apart of something and you was a snake you would be shamed.. if you was you and some didnt understand you might get mocked but at the same time being true to yourself is the best feeling ever, plus when your dead ppl can say a true story not a lie based on who you pretend to be..

I put on 3st, my legs and back packed up and my hair started to thin and go grey, does that count as life beginning?

I also learned the term “prediabetic”.

Maybe it should be “old age begins at 40”

If you've enjoyed life up to 40 does it carry on being good or does the decline and visible ageing deplete any enjoyment out of it?

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

In my experience, yes. In fact quite literally. Less than three weeks after my fortieth birthday I met the love of my life. ALL of the best sex and best spanking play and the most exciting adventures and the most dizzying romance and love I've had in my life has been since I turned forty. My confidence and self esteem and self awareness has grown considerably and I'm astonished at how much better I understand who I am, why I'm here and what makes me happy. Despite a number of traumatic and difficult real life events my forties have been the best years of my life by miles and miles. And I'm pretty sure my fifties will be as good if not better.

For me life began when I left the toxic behind, figured out who I was again, learned to love me and live for me not others...... that was 5 years ago aged 44, changes still being made and moving forwards. I can’t remember a happier period in my previous years or a sense of freedom

So life begins when you allow yourself to enjoy it, you’ve only got one shot at it, so if it’s not working do something about it

"I too met the love of my life after i turned 40 i was 41"

I didn't know that love like that existed outside of fiction. When we first started he was driving trucks and he'd drive miles out of his way to spend ten minutes at the end of my road. I'd climb up into the cab and into his lap, waiting for him was just so exciting. It took us two years from meeting to get together but when it happened it was like it was always meant to be that way. Was it worth waiting forty years for? Fuck, yeah. Worth every single second
