If you definitely have done whatever you were supposed to do make sure you keep the evidence and email them so there is it history of all the contact. I know plenty of people who have appealed against these fines successfully.

I always get loads of those that they stick on the windscreen when in the Uk, I just throw them in the nearest bin.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I had a similar thing which I appealed successfully. I'd parked in a roadside bay in Lambeth but didn't have enough coin. The machine had a card payment option, but that was out of order, so the 3rd option was to pay by a parking app. When I returned to my car there was a parking ticket on my windscreen, but assumed it was a mistake, as I'd been emailed a receipt.

When I got home, I read my email and found that I'd entered an incorrect letter for my number plate, hitting the "Y" instead of the "T". I didn't spot this at the time, due to it being a very sunny day and couldn't really read my phone screen due to the glare.

I emailed an appeal, stating that I'd inadvertently entered the incorrect number, but could tell them what I had entered due to having the emailed receipt. I also stated that if the card machine hadn't been out of order I would have made the payment and displayed the ticket.

They wrote back saying in this instance they would let me off, but to be more careful next time. I've since set up the app to store the correct number!

Leeds

I had something similar. I drove into a car park and noticed signs saying permit holders only and drove straight out. The following week I got notice saying I’d stayed for 14 minutes I appealed it and included the parking ticket from the street parking I took on the road. With the time in the ticket inside the time that the parking firm said I was in their car park. They threw the appeal out as they said the camera records the time. I then appealed the calibration on the camera and my appeal was finially accepted. They are a shower of c€$ts. Especially these camera controlled car parks.

If it is private and you have done nothing wrong, then let them get on with it!

If they were to pursue it in court, you have all the evidence that you need and can claim damages/stress etc.
