Manchester

Hi, looking for a nice few day break in Europe in a couple of weeks; any suggestions

Mostly vanilla tourist stuff, but not adverse to a bit of kink maybe.

Ideas offered up so far have been Dublin, Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Madrid, Amsterdam, etc..

Suggestions or Ideas???

Dublin is fun but expensive. Barcelona is good for a short break as is most of Italy.

How far are you prepared to fly?

I’m in Paphos. Flew out Friday afternoon, flying back late today.

Nice enough weather to dine outside yet could ski in the mountains if I chose to. Cost me £105 return flights.

Bilbao is a nice city

Catania in scilly is beautiful as is Budapest

Copenhagen is a fantastic city but as said above can be expensive, in fact all the scandanivian cities are on the expensive side

I've been told The cities in Estonia are amazing for short breaks

Some great ideas here, thanks.

Looking for something not too expensive, just somewhere we can enjoy time as a couple with a bit of sight seeing, and where it’s not going to break the bank to eat out and drink!

Berlin is easy to get around as the public transport system is so good. You can see all the big sights in a weekend. It's also fairly reasonably priced while you are there.

Too many choices

We’re going to reduce the list then by striking out cities that would be better in summer tee shirt weather, like Barcelona, Venice etc

So thinking winter wonderland romantic x

Parts of Barcelona have been without power for the 5th day after the winter storms and there is a lot of damage ... causing me a headache with work at the moment.

In that case my recommendations would be Tallinn (but it's not a direct flight from Manchester) Riga, Warsaw, Budapest, Prague. All relatively cheap compared to the UK, cheap flights and really good value accommodation and great food and quirky tourist stuff. All perfect for a weekend.

Further to this, I visited all of these except Warsaw in winter and they all do cold really well. Warm snuggly gin bars, waffles and hot chocolate.

Bruges has lovely canals with ducks and swans and interesting architecture and a tall tower and is easy to walk round. I’ve only spent a day there but it was worth going.

At this time of year.

Another vote for Barcelona.

Almost any Italian city is worth a visit but my top 3 so far are, Rome, Florence and Sorrento ( yes I know this isn't a city)

Malta is lovely if you like history.

If you want to stay in the UK Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool have plenty to offer.

To be fair any city probably has enough to fill a long weekend.

My votes would be Porto, San Sebastien or Vienna.

All amazing cities. Porto for the booze, San Sebastien for the food, Vienna for just being a happy city.
