I disagree. Nothing to hide does not mean I should be tracked and traced everywhere I go. What happens to all that data and how will it be sold / used. It will eventually be abused, hacked and lost.

Having said that, phones track us everywhere anyhow

Originally Licence plate readers were introduced to stop the IRA bombing the UK.

No bombs were stopped, crime rates are higher in london, and they are basically only used to fine people.

Same thing will happen facial recognition cameras. Used to make money.

They dont give a shit about your saftey, whats the prosecution rate at 8%? judges throwing out cases where cops have been attacked with machetes even though they have it on video, gbh not attempted murder?

Face recognition cameras are in many supermarkets already.

It's fine by me to have them on every street.

If I don't want to be recognised when i'm doing my usual bank robberies I'll just wear a big hat or a play doh nose.

Seems like a brilliant idea then. Quick question, do the supermarkets FRC have access to a data base with the Ministry of criminal records or whatever it's called in the UK, so if a person is flagged up and identified as a criminal or thief they can be arrested? How does it work.

It's not appropriate imp, as they have too much uncertainty, unreliability and major implications for privacy abuse as well as potential damage to people.

The trope if you have nothing to hide, is not a valid reason to permit major privacy intrusions, which break a substantial human right.

Significant research and development is needed, coupled with public dialogue and agreements, as well as a lot of restrictions upon the software and data storage abilities, before it should be considered for public use.

We should define what is appropriate, before the software developers do.

Slowly but surely we have and are selling ourselves out to the states . We will combined become a communist country and the aim is to have no one notice . Facial recognition.. this is good for safety and tracking potential criminals, that's how its sold to us. But by default we will be at the mercy of the law .. imagine being pulled over because your water bill is a day late .. and receiving a fine for the privaledge. Think judge dread .. thats where we are heading.. it will separate us into a much more defined class system than we have today and the weak will be picked of at the bidding of our new health service . Good for population and the economy. You cant stop it . The voting system is not what we are told. The only way around it if is everybody voted for a new entity , governing body that actually saught to eradicate war
