Jambalaya! Filling, spicy, tasty. Make a huge pot and put it in the middle of the table so everyone can help themselves. A really good sociable meal.

It’s one of those dishes that has a million recipes. Mine is rice, chicken, mussels, calamari, prawns, chorizo, onion, peppers and various spices.

There’s a good base recipe in the Beeb recipe site. Look for Momma’s Meat Jambalaya.

I love stew with dumplings

You cant beat a good roast though - I want roast chicken with pork sage and onion stuffing, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, carrots, sweetcorn, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.

I havent had breakfast- I want it now

That’s the beauty of the dish: put in or take out whatever you want. I absolutely have to have chorizo in mine but I’ve also added chunks of normal sausage when removing the seafood for friends. It’s just as good.

Knock yourself out!
