Ok so the evenings are cooler, mornings are chilly.....i wrap up as i feel the cold i just wondered, who wears fur??????Would you? If not why not?? Hairy chests not included.....

Its just so totally wrong.

If said individual killed it, skinned it and ate it and used the fur as much needed clothing. not a problem.

But we aint cave men no more and have NO need to wear the stuff.

Makes me cringe to think about it.

You only have to watch the seal slaughter to be put off for life...

how the hell someone can club a baby seal to death for its skin is beyond me.

Unless you live in the subzero temperatures I don't see any need to wear fur its just not a requirement to survival in this country

As lovely as it make look or feel,it looks a whole lot better on the animal it came from

In the early 80s, my mum bought me a silver fox coat, which I still have somewhere. Not that I can get into it anymore, as I have expanded quite a bit since then.

What my mum did not know then is that I like the idea of wearing just the coat with nothing else except suspenders and stockings, that was when I was in my mid teens!!!

sorry but untill they come up with a man made matiral that gives the same level of protection( without destroying the planet ) i'll carry on wearing cowhide, and most of the hide's used to produce leather goods come from the animals slaughtered to put a meal on your plate every day, so i se it as making use of the whole animal, as the bones are used to produce glue, so no waste at all

Most decent leather comes from places where they don't do barbed wire. Ok bi product is meat not the primary as beef cattle don't have the best hides for tannin.

Mind i like a nice medium rare steak while sat in my leather jacket and biker boots

i bet theres an awefull lot of people on this thread that use animal by products every day and don't know they are doing so, specially you ladies and your cosmetic's some of the colouring agents in lip gloss/sticks is a by-product of bettles some of your fondation creams/powders contain animal extracts to stabalise them

Very true! However, there are more choices nowadays that are supposed to be animal free.

Each to their own. If one feels better having a strong opinion on something, then I shall respect his/her opinion, as long as he/she does not try and jam it down my throat

Perhaps I am just a hot person but I still wear a very short sleeved shirt to work. No fleece or anything and I dash to train at 7:50am

Not had goosebumps thus far but can definately tell it's getting colder.

still in shorts n t shirt here.......won't be breaking out the Val Doonican cardigans till the snow starts.......but nah...would not wear fur, think it is morally wrong for all the reasons stated in the blood sports post.....kill for food...not for fun/...well unless ur taking pot shots at the neighbours kids

I wore shorts while camping in Dorset for the past few days, sunny and calm except for yesterday when I took down the gear in the rain

It was warmer than the miserable August for sure!
