Stretch marks

Do they bother you?

Do you find them ugly on other people?

I really don’t mind them. I’m not one of those people who are like ‘oh I’m so proud, it shows I was pregnant’ cause I had some before, but I don’t hate them. They’re kind of just *nothing* to me. They don’t affect how I feel about my body.

However, I get a lot of abuse for them

But a lot of nice messages to!

So, do yours bother other people?

If you’re bothered by other people’s stretch marks; why?

Almond oil mixed with shea butter, Coco butter lotion, Aloe vera stuff like that can help stretch marks.I wouldn't worry about it ignore em just grumpy and sad trying to give others a hard time.

I have no thoughts about them. People either have them or they don’t. I remember when I was pregnant I was worried I’d get them but my mother told me I wouldn’t cos she didn’t and she hasn’t got a single one and she’s done two pregnancies, plus my sister was 9lb 1oz!

I had none up until 30 weeks. Had a stay in hospital and a midwife commented on how perfect my belly was. Next day boom, two stretch marks. And they just kept coming. And he was only 5lbs 13oz!

I have faded ones on my arms and hips from when I gained loads of weight years ago. I'm not bothered by them now but I did feel insecure when they first appeared.

I can't say I take much notice of them on other people. They are just a part of life and most women I know have them somewhere on their body.

If people want to give abuse about stretch marks let them have at it. Delete button is a marvellous thing.

Not bothered by them.

My partner had a natural birth and our daughter was a dinky 5lb 12oz, from getting to hospital it was just over 2 hours and she was in my arms....everything went super smooth, she was worried about getting stretch marks, but they’d make no difference to anything for me if she did.

My first born was over 10lb, I had a huge bump with lots of stretch marks. They’re all faded now but still very much visible. I’m still quite self conscious about them, although I’ve found the majority of men aren’t bothered and I’m more confident in my body than I was for a long time

Think fair skin people tend to get them more. Shit that people insult you because of it. I never had them but I have other issues with my skin that I hate. I get psoriasis sometimes when I’m stressed and that’s a ball ache with regards to what clothes I can wear.

I'm actually furious that you would get those nasty comments.

I have stretchmarks, and other tell tale signs of having babies and living in this body for 46 years.

Our marks, they're part of our flesh and our stories. Carrying a baby is something to celebrate. Skin expanding and shrinking is part of life. It pisses me off that we live in a world where we are constantly shamed for how we naturally are.

Please continue to unapologetically flaunt your sexy natural self.. let the fact that people can be so small minded and cruel get to you, but never the subject of their criticism. You have an awesome body x

Constantly shamed ?

Nonsense. by who and where?

Men don't give a rat's arse of a woman has stretch marks..

It's women's insecurity..

Not pandering to it..

Culturally .. both men and women are bombarded with information that we are to fat, too thin, put cream to sort out your wrinkles, don't wear that if you're old etc etc.

It's real.

I'm well aware that plenty men appreciate women as they are. Insecurity comes from somewhere

What's your problem?

Women are shamed constantly for having stretch marks, for being too fat, too thin, for having lumps, bumps and cellulite. I don't know what world you're living in thinking that this is just a woman being insecure.

I don't see this post as attention seeking at all. If anything, it is refreshing to see so many people embracing and talking positively about these marks on our skin.

Can’t really class this as attention seeking though can you, it’s a shit thing for someone to get abuse for. Not like you can choose whether you get them or not. It’s nasty to go at someone for stretch marks like.

I'm sorry some vile person felt the need to be nasty about yours. I think they are beautiful. Usually people who try to put others down do so because of jealousy or because of their own insecurities, or sometimes they're just really not very nice.
