Not all the time. Quite a few people have declared their love for me after a couple of drinks. They didn't love me.

Not always. Depends on the mood, situation, context. I think there's a lot of factors

I have a friend who gets d*unk and insults me. I can brush it off and I refuse to insult back so instead I will end the conversation.

A one off you can forgive, but what if its more?

I think I'd be asking just what sort of friend they are...

I do find this to be partly true OP. Though in the past I have been able to express my feelings just as well sober.

At least you can blame it on the drink is feelings arnt reciprocated

I do.. applies to many people I know.

Not to me may I add... I’d much rather hear the truth at any point/time...

Some people get like that when they're d*unk. I'd speak to them about it when they're sober.

I'm just going to wait to see if I get an apology. If she doesn't recognise her actions then it says so much.

The right place

I’m sure sometimes a little less inhibition can bring out a bit more honesty. But similarly if someone is really d*unk they probably aren’t thinking straight.

I wonder if it can be like Freudian slips.

I just giggle a lot. I suppose there's an honesty in that, though

Think the first response got to the heart of it - d*unk people do say things they won't back up when sober.

There is something to be said for alcohol giving people an easier route to get things off their chest though.

I think alcohol helps some people speak more, not necessarily honestly or lies. Its like anything else, some people react in very different ways. I never quite get how it makes some people angry, I just can’t relate to that

Does she remember? Sometimes of you say nothing they think it's ok.

In my opinion once can be put down to a d*unken mistake but twice is just inexcusable. But as I said if you're appearing to let it go by saying nothing she probably thinks you're ok with it.
