So I got given the flu jab at work 2 days ago and it’s still stinging and there’s a slight bump there. Is this normal??

I’ve never had one before

Brighton - even Hove!

Sounds ok as long as you don’t feel poorly

Yes it’s normal, what you describe isn’t specific to a flu jab, it’s about a jab in general.

I get an annual flu jab, sometimes it is still tender a couple of days later, sometimes It’s not. I think it’s about the skill of the individual performing the injection.

If it’s still painful after a few more days then call the NHS 111 number for advice.

You've had a needle inserted into your skin. It's going to feel odd for a bit

Ah thanks, thought the jabs were October November time. Will definitely be getting a jab next year after catching it this year.

Seeing people younger than me in intensive care with flu this year has been scary. Hope you're all better now.

All better now thanks, was just before Christmas and did end up with a trip to the hospital. The fever was just unbelievable. Despite how many times I thought I had the flu before, my god when you do get it you know all about it don’t you.

I’ve had lots of needles inserted in my arms, they’ve never left a bump or been sore

Just realised that makes me sound like a drug user lol.

Last year I had to have an MMR and hepatitis injection before I started my job, I also donate blood regularly

I usually forget I've had a flu jab, until I turn over in bed a couple of days later.

And go " ouchie"
