Hi all..

Pondering a recent meet, when meeting up with a single male would you expect them to provide protection or the other way around??

Curious..

There and to the left a bit

I would never *expect* someone to provide protection - it's my sexual health, so I take responsibility for it and always come prepared accordingly.

Obviously if they have their own and prefer to use it then not a problem (by the time I meet I trust people enough)

We provided our own but expected a single man to ask if we hadn't made it clear

What do you mean protection?

Like a taser?

As a single guy, I carry my own, because I know which brands are "comfortable" for me to wear, I tend to choose latex free as that negates a problem that may occur.

Most of the people I have met, also have their own and it is a question of trust. In that some people could use a pin if a) they want to get pregnant, or b) they are just an arsehole that gets off on that.

For this reason I always open a fresh box when meeting with someone for the first time and I would only ever use someone elses if they insisted and there was a fresh box available. Doesn't reduce all the issues, but it is managing risk somewhat.

Wow. That really is a lot of thought and actually makes sense. Thanks for the openness

Agreed that it’s the health of all parties involved therefore my opinion would be that if a single male is playing with a couple that he’d want to be careful himself and not expect the couple to provide condoms nor bareback! Especially when it’s indicated in our profile.

Never rely on the other person to bring it, always provide your own. If they forget what are you going to do !

In a town full of colours

By the time I get to actually having a meet with a new person we would have already discussed condoms and made suitable arrangements for both of us

I always have condoms on me for meets, but I would be surprised if the other party didn't have any as well...

I always carry my own. In general I've often found that the expectation is on the guy to bring condoms.

Being a guy, I think that the man should bring it, but I also think that in this day and age there is nothing wrong with the lady / other person bringing some too just in case

I'd add that one of the topics of conversation before meeting is always about protection, if they have a preference, any allergies etc - and if necessary I will buy fresh accordingly
