It's relative.

I can get a packet of TimTams quite easily in Manchester. They're about £4 a pack.

Considering they're about $A4 a pack in Australia, that's expensive/ above the odds.

Or the other way... I once went into a British expat shop in the CBD of Sydney, for shits and giggles.

It's not food, but I remember a bottle of washing up liquid being sold for $10. With a 99p sticker on it.

$10 won't get you much in Sydney at all, but I'm still not paying that for a bottle of Fairy (it might not have been Fairy).

I heard that the only place where fags are more expensive than here is in Australia. Is that correct ??
