Is a picture necessary?

I can show someone my picture after we got to know each other a little.

But lets be honest. There are so many fake pictures, filtered pictures, misleading pictures, etc... that make my no picture profile look good.

Don't you think?

Would you look at a no picture profile?

I wouldn't look at a profile with no photo. But that's just my preference.

When I get messages from accounts with no profile photo, I don't even read them, I just delete them and don't look at the profile.

It's a must for me.

.

I'm not sure they are necessary as such; sure a profile photo can capture initial attention but it's from a quite shallow perspective (not that there's anything wrong with that). Not having one probably attracts the attention of those you're more compatible with which can't be a bad thing.

I'd look at a no avatar profile, I'm a curious so and so. It wouldn't put me off if the profile text and veris piqued my interest.

For us it's a large part of the initial attraction. As a lot couple do, we get quite a few messages, lots are one liners. So a one lined message with no picture stands a better than average chance of simply being deleted

Missing out on unicorns.

A lot of discreet stunning women who do not have the time to come on here would not have profile pics. Less messages. Easier to manage account.

If a profile without a picture were to message and not send a pic in the message then I find it hard to take that user seriously. Something in me says "this person wont be here for long or isn't taking their fab journey seriously" and I find I wont reply. I totally get that some people are worried about having their friends or family finding out that they are on a swinging site as some folk with "traditional" ideas about sex might wrongly think less of them for it. If this is the case though I feel they could still send a picture direct from their phone in the message as attraction is a must for people if they are going to meet, imo.

Depending what’s written on their profile I might be interested but as I tend not to send first messages it would be unlikely. If a profile without an avatar were to contact me I would hope to see a picture early in any conversation.

Let’s say that they are an interpretation of myself. And I like yours too!

And in response to the op, I may well contact somebody with a well written profile and no picture provided they have a catchy status update or profile title. If they don’t They are not going to stand out. My eyes will be caught by the many other profiles which have an attractive avatar.

Generally speaking someone with no profile pic whatsoever will not get a reply from us.

It's not hard to upload a picture, but if even that small amount of effort is too much, then there is probably zero chance that they will bother to get out of bed, shower, dress nicely and travel to somewhere suitable to meet.

It’s probably been raised on the thread already but not having a profile pic will mean that you’re going to instantly be falling outside peoples filters.

Couple that with the fact that as a single man, you’re already in the most blocked group of people on the site. You’re only harming your chances of any kind of meet

Again. I agree.

But also... those with no pictures might be because they do not have the time to go through the hundreds of messages they get a day. So productivity goes up with out a picture as well.

Good arguments.

Just saying... do not dismiss a no picture profile. Especially when they have amazing reviews and have written you a nice genuine witty message.

What I don't understand is the reluctance to have any picture at all.

Many people need discretion due to careers etc.

That doesn't mean you can't have fun with your profile pic ... something unusual that can on its own spark interest and conversation.

You don't have to be recognisable in the pic, so long as you're in it ... even just your finger pointing at something.

Communication takes many forms but studies have suggested that people form opinions in the first 30 seconds of "meeting" ... impact in your profile pic can give that edge in some ways.

But hey, whatever works for you
