Probably not because Lawyers are American are they not? You'll be looking for a solicitor!

Yes; but all lawyers are specialists - so we can only be considered 'experts' in our specific 'area' or 'areas' of law - I'm a criminal lawyer but have some - at times limited - knowledge of human rights, public, property and tort law ... Oh and a bit of contract actually...

No; lawyer is merely

The catch all term for solicitors, barristers and academic lawyers - but all are 'lawyers' which essentially means - reader of law

Yeah bar one as you maybe in need of some defence and we aint talking the big girls blouse types with helmets and padded shoulders that do the touch downs thingy and then prance about in over dramatic ways

Lawyer is a greek term if you were to use an Anglo Saxon equivilent we would say Advocate which meand friend or advisor. QC, Lawyer, solicitor or advocate; it pays well!

I was once told by someone in the know that most barristers could put all is knowledge on a postage stamp and still have room for the lords prayer.

As foe handbags.........not my thing but defended plenty whose thing it was!!!

Someone in the know is probably a clerk!

That said I came from a large Manchester council estate never forget from whence you came!
