Ok steak lovers... what's your favourite cut of steak?..I never order steak out because unless I'm actually going to a decent steakhouse I'm left disappointed ...and how do you like it cooked?..

Has to be Fillet medium rare ... and I agree it’s better when you’ve cooked it yourself!!

rib eye needs to be medium to render the fat out. If going for rare you can use less fatty cuts.

Mine too, I like the marbling in a ribeye. That mix of muscle and fat gives it more flavour. Most people start out eating steaks well done but once you get used to the taste there's no going back on rare or medium-rare.

Apparently, according to a chef friend the hanger steak/butchers steak is the most flavoursome and tenderest steak ..named because the butcher takes it home for himself

No way. You can have a rib eye rare and it is delicious. Super tender.

"Are they really worth the money. Sirloin is my thing but £75!"

I would have said no, until I had one as part of a very special meal and it was utterly amazing. Now if it’s special meal, I don’t hesitate.

As has been said elsewhere the cattle are looked after in a very special way and the meat/fat marbling ratio is perfect. It’s flavoursome and tender on a whole different level.
