Legging revolution

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Just been out to a well known supermarket to pick up some lunch and what a delightful experience.....

There a so many lush curvy ladies wandering around in gym pants / leggings right now.

Seems to be a real trend in lush ladies wearing these right now, whether going to the gym or not, the sight of a black lycra stretched over a curvy pair of pins or lush pert butt gets me every time,..

Anyone else noted this legging revolution?, Long may it continue.....

Nothing more revolting than seeing a plus size woman's leggings disappearing up her bits. And the overstretched material showing a pair of huge knickers underneath.

Some need to show a little dignity ffs.

I find fat shaming a lot more vomit inducing and undignified, personally.

I would love to see the opinion of ladies if they went to a supermarket to be faced with hordes of 20 stone guys wearing a pair of lycra cycling shorts and vest.

I bet the last thing they would be thinking is phwoar cop a load of that.

Of course some of the sports manufacturers charge big bucks for some sports gear but is it more about easy to wash/dry practical and keeping the wardrobe slimmed down too..

Why be so negative on such a positive thread though? It did come across as a div at fat people. You don't have to name someone to try to shame a group of people.

"It's been going on for a few years now. Athleisure wear etc"

Somewhere along the line I joined the athleisure revolution and now half my wardrobe seems to be made up of the stuff. Outside of exercise, I love the leggings/mesh/biker boots crossover aesthetic. And it has the bonus of being super comfortable!

Ive never got on with leggings really I prefer the firmness of tight denim jeans. Although I wore nothing but jodhpurs for years so guess that amounts to wearing leggings really. They came with associated mud and grime so not overly sexy

So you go, wow he looks smashing. Or do you say in your head, oh ffs really.. .

Guess that is fat shaming by proxy .

I have been 17 stone plus for most my life. So really this fat shaming shit is wasted on me.

If you are not happy then diet and exercise.if you are happy then fill your boots.

Really is not rocket science.

Mums on school run pass me every day in gym gear. Are they going to the gym after dropoff ? Probably not. Some will. Most won't.

Is this lazy fashion? A woman near me goes to the shop in her dressing gown and slippers ,, is this fashion or laziness

You can say what you like just don't expect people to accept or let it go unchallenged if they feel you're being unecessarily nasty.

Nasty, what was nasty in my first post.

I was clearly giving my view on the subject.

Plus size women look awful imo in leggings and sports wear outside of a gym. As do plus size men in lycra cycling gear.

Nothing nasty, just my opinion.

I love my leggings. Super comfy. I can't say I feel sexy in them or even believe I could look good in them.

I see them as practical.

I always wear things that cover my bum too.
