I'm just a young trans girl at the start of her journey. Are there any tips/advice anyone can give on appearing more fem?

I came here instead of google cause I want to hear from experiance rather than beauty websites

Manchester (she/her)

I'm a naturally femme appearing cis woman, and I don't have any specific advice, but I wanted to wish you the best in your journey.

Your pics from Sept and May would seem to indicate that you do not have too much work to do to feminise your appearance. You have youth on your side and you have soft looking skin,a narrow waist and shapely hips. Living a healthy lifestyle (no smoking, good diet) may help you to maintain that.

If you are really serious, you could speak to your GP who may be willing to refer you to a Gender Identity Clinic, who may be willing to prescribe you HRT which may help to feminise your appearance even more. Note,I've used the word 'may' rather than 'will'. Some GPs are less accommodating than others, the GIC is not guaranteed to help you in the way you're wanting and HRT can have varying results.

There are various cosmetic procedures available such as laser treatments for removal of facial hair, breast augmentation etc but these all come at a price.

There are hundreds of make up tutorials available online.

There are trans specific websites that have discussion and advice forums that may be able to help you.

If you want to fit in, shopping and going for meals it's as important to act feminine as it is to look female.

It's the little things like don't sit with your legs apart, and don't dress like a drag queen.

Bristol East

I realised:

a) there are some things I can improve on with willpower alone

b) there are some things I can improve with clinical intervention

c) there are some things that cannot be changed regardless

I concentrated on a).

So I learned how to grow my nails, to lose weight, to shape the eyebrows, to remove body hair, to walk in heels, to move my body differently, to talk in a fem voice, to understand make-up and probably lots more besides

I ventured into b) insofar as I went for laser and electrolysis (but gave up the latter when the orange peel effect started to set in).

As for the rest of it, I just embrace who I am.

No point thinking you can be anyone else - everyone is taken.

This is it, this is the hand I was dealt and I learned simply to embrace those things I cannot change.

I am not a woman. That's an impossible ambition that can only cause stress. I don't need that.

No, I am just trying to be the best "me" I can be.
