Might be worth checking with a moderator how often is ok so you don’t get banned for spamming the forums.

Personally, I think Sunday’s are a good day for them

Too often and it might lose its appeal plus it's a lot of work for you. I would say fortnightly or monthly go with the majority

I think fortnightly. Given the rush you had today, I think monthly would be too little.

Maybe group messages together to avoid the spam trap a bit more? (have a way of making it clear that they're separate) in groups of three or something? or is that too challenging?

The spamming was very quick instant seconds apart responses, with the same person up to ten times in a row one word answers

The gaps you have are good distance apart and others interacting in the meantime
