Brighton - even Hove!

I went out this morning and the house next door was for sale. I got back and it’s been sold. On a Sunday! So we are about to get new neighbours. I’m torn between excitement at having new neighbours for the first time in 20 years or so and terrified they will be noisy or knock the house down and build loads of flats or something.

What do I do to make it all work? I was obviously going to do welcome bottles of wine and invites round for coffee but other than that...

It’s a cross between happy and worried tbh.

Just be friendly. It will either work or it won't. We were friendly when we moved in here. One side won't speak to us and the other side does.

I usually give it a week or so, unless I physically see them outside. I pop round empty handed, just sat hello my name is....I live 2 doors up. If you ever need to know anything, what days the bins go out etc, just knock on. I work shifts, so if you ever need someone to be on for a delivery etc, just ask. And leave them to it. I am in my sixth house, I have always had amazing relationships with my neighbours

OP.

Mention you're on FAB.

You might just fit right in with them? Who knows what it might lead to?

It's great where I live, we have that sort of friendship. If we run out of stuff, we pop in and ask whoever is home. Swop plants, timber all sorts
