First time social nerves

I am attending my first social event at Heathrow next weekend and I'm really nervous...luckily I have some beautiful ladies to go with.

Is it normal to be really nervous? Even more than a first meet?

Nothing to be really terrified for as most socials and events are most welcoming when you get there.

Friendly bunch of people and if you advise them they do introduce you around a little

If needed you can sit near them for friendly first time banter.

I was crapping myself the first time I went to one (not literally, that would have made it truly terrifying) but was made to feel welcome, even if I was a bit of a spare part for the first one or two.

Now a regular at the local one and branching out further afield.

Would recommend to anyone, most people at them are lovely, and you already know that you all have something in common, even if it is only fab.

Good luck, big breaths, keep calm and you will look back wondering why you were ever nervous.

I could barely breathe at my first one. Couldn’t stop sweating and stuttering and nearly went home after half an hour. Then met some amazing people that have become great friends and now love them. If you’re with friends you’ll be absolutely fine!!! Gutted I can’t go have a blast x

Never had a great night at socials.

Still I here some are lot better then others.

Most clubs are very socail places even if no one to play with can have a drink and chat.

Hope it goes well and have a good time

Picture everyone naked, I hear this works. I've never done it like as I wouldn't want to be that guy at the social walking around with a trouser tent, as a woman though you wont have that problem lol

Or just think that the likelihood is others feel the same and after a short while you'll be loving life again

My advice would be smile!!! And think other people are just as nervous if not more so.

My first MLS I was terrified. Probably the second and maybe the third too

But now I seem to be more confident about talking to people.

I attended my first pre social event in Manchester last September and I had a great time.

I was both nervous and excited but once I was introduced to a few people I quickly relaxed.

My advice, be yourself and have a wonderful time.

That's why I have advised people who are nervous to go to the pre social it's much easier to meet people that way

The first social (and the first MLS) I went to I was bloody nervous. I'm naturally anxious and an overthinking type but I was so worried no one would talk to me, everyone would be disappointed upon meeting me... etc etc (I still have those wobbles now!)

But I went and it was honestly brilliant to meet so many people. You get this adrenaline from such a social situation, you make new friends, you laugh and sometimes cry and you feel like you're seen.

You'll have a wonderful time Angel. If it ever gets overwhelming, give myself or Inc a shout. x

Don't put too much pressure on yourself, just think of it as a night out with a cheeky drink or two, at least 90 per cent of fabbers are completely normal human beings just like yourself, ok well at least 45 percent anyway.
