Does anyone else cringe at this question?

I get that if you're establishing a connection with someone it's important to know.

I just never know how best to answer because inevitably what ever I say, some men will just go along with it.

It's especially cringe worthy if it's something they ask too soon.

So how do you answer it?

It's best to get it out off the road early! as no point in chatting if you are both looking different things. Good idea is stick the answer in your profile and point them in that direction.

I feel it answers the question without giving too much info out because I cannot honestly know what I'm into until there in that moment with that person, chatting you get an idea. But you never know

My problem is I avoid asking things like this and instead ask nerdy questions about science stuff 

But if I was asked it then I guess depending on the context, but if its sex, I'd tell you I like most things and it's easier to say what I won't do and set the ground rules so to speak. I've never met any woman who wants me to go through a list of things she wants me to do with her...

Its actually something I usually ask guys early on. Theres no point in me getting to know someone that isnt into the same things sexually as I am.

If a guys asks me then I am not at all offended. After all I'm presuming he is on here like me looking to find someone with simular sexual interests. So I answer honestly telling him what my sexual likes are.

The only thing that does annoy me is when a guy tells me hes into everything and will try anything. We all have out boundaries and limits!

Personally, I think its a lazy question and doesn`t deserve an answer, if they read your profile page they wouldn`t have to ask that question..

Personally speaking I think there are two strands to this...firstly *how* you ask, "What you into?" not being the greatest way, as it's quite an ambiguous and lazy question

Secondly, and perhaps more key, if someone feels the need to ask, or ask it in the first couple of messages, then for me, then it would be an indication they wouldn't be someone I was compatible with, it's the kind of thing that with the right person gets answered organically and naturally through the flow of messages.

I "get" that it's important to find people of a like mind and with similar interests, but lets face it, unless you have a particularly niche thing you are looking for, for most people the basic sexual interests are going to be fairly similar and you can establish boundaries and limits once you have agreed to meet.

My answer - and the response is telling - is usually along the lines of, I enjoy different experiences with different people. It's fascinating to see where particular dynamics can take us, isn't it?

That can either lead to a lovely conversation where we work out commonalities, or a temper tantrum because I haven't given them a script.

Exactly this. The moment can take you in any direction even new places or where it was not fun in the past it is now.

Interests and profile text give a big clue don't they. Ah must read first. Well I do. Where it says no Married men I move on and don't bother them. Where it says extreme only or Sugar daddy wanted etc I move on.

Hate those stupid question. We have spend enormous time putting together our profile, which is full of information, and the bloody idiot will ask- "So what are you looking for?" My answer: "The fucking block button. That's what I am looking for!"

Absolutely disrespectful beginning of communication.

Luckily there are many people out there that have social skills and know how to approach us.

Beiing asked too many questions is a pet peeve of mine. I find it exhausting and mentally draining so i just don’t answer questions i don’t want to.

They either take the hint or they try again and i ignore the question again.

I kind of just fob that question off. It makes me feel awkward. What I’m into with one person might not be the same with another. I usually find the message gets asked in the first message or 2 which is a assume red flag to me

I (Luke) just point them to our profile and say it's on there. It gives me the impression they haven't read it, which makes me wonder why somebody is contacting us.

I tend to find guys who ask this (along with "How long have you been swinging?" and "What experiences have you had?") want to talk about our sex life as the main topic of conversation. This is firstly boring and secondly none of their business.
