Can't believe your talking about Christmas already......... However, I thought I was seeing things today when I saw a car pulling a trailer advertising Christmas meals etc at a local hotel all dressed up with Santa and the christmas decorations - Everyone was taking a second look as if they couldn't believe their eyes!! Lucky it didn't cause a flipping accident!!

Can just see the insurance claim

"Well I was watching Santa on a Trailor" in September......... baa humbug

Congratulations, it is fun, but can be a bit mind numbing also.

Enjoy her while she's young and excited about it all.

I have 2 kids aged 6 and 11 they seem to think I am made of money and it dont matter what they ask for now cos come christmas eve I will be presented with a whole new list at about 9 pm!!

Then the oldest will spend all christmas day saying "I like all the things I got but it would have been better id I had got *******" blasted kids lol

I prefered it when they were little and were just happy to get new stuff not demand bigger and better every year . . .

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,

In the lane, snow is glistening

A beautiful sight,

We're happy tonight.

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird,

Here to stay is a new bird

He sings a love song,

As we go along,

Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,

Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say: Are you married?

We'll say: No man,

But you can do the job

When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire,

As we dream by the fire

To face unafraid,

The plans that we've made,

Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,

And pretend that he's a circus clown

We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,

Until the other kids knock him down.

When it snows, ain't it thrilling,

Though your nose gets a chilling

We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

IT'S NEARLY HERE...YAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!

Food, glorious food, and a present for myself!

I love spending Christmas on my own, as I can eat/cook whatever I like (I hate turkey and Christmas pud), with full control of the TV remote.

I'll start with Buck Fizz made with Asti as I do not like champagne as soon as I am awake.

Starter for this year is likely to be spicy prawns, or I may attempt to make my own Gravalex this year, to be followed by roast duck with roast spud, parsnip with some stirred fried vegetable. Dessert is likely to be my own Tiramisu!

There will be lots of nibbles in the house that time of the year

My Christmas cards are half done, leftover from last year's effort when I decided not to send any due to my partner's untimely death. So last year's design can be used for this year instead. Yup, I make my own cards too, been doing that since mid 80's!

OK, if I could turn back the clock, I would spend it with my late partner

However, I did enjoy spending that time of the year on my own during my single unattached years

I never feel depressed during that time of the year to be honest, even for last year shortly after I lost my partner.

Probably because it is a nice long holiday for me, finishing on 24 Dec and don't go back until the first working day after the New Year, woo hoo!!!

Besides, I hate the idea of spending Christmas with friends and their families as I feel really awkard when they start to argue etc... Been there, done that, never again!!!

Ah... Richy's xmas carol ...

.

.

.

Lacey things, the wife is missing.

Didn't ask, for her permission

I'm wearing her clothes,

her silk panty hose.

Walking around in women's underwear.

In the store, there's a teddy.

With little straps, like spagetti.

It holds me so tight,

like handcuffs at night.

Walking around in womens underwear

In the office there's a guy named Melvin.

He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.

He'll say "Are you ready?"

I'll say, "Woah man! Lets wait untill the wife is out of town."

Later on, if you wanna,

We can dress, like Madonna.

Put on some eye shade, and join the parade.

Walking around in women's underwear.

Lacey things, missing.

Didn't ask, permission.
