A little bit bored, a little bit curious about the following

Which are your favourite thread types and which are your most hated.

My favourite is a tie between two. Good discussion threads. Well at as long as they stay as a discussion, once it turns to emotional and irrational arguments I get bored as that is usually when sane discussions end.

Also similar threads to Nora's secret service, or face pic friday. Nice interactions with a twist.

Most hated by far are the "user above" threads. They are dull and they just don't work as they move too fast, or they are never played correctly as people skip the user above and pick whoever they like.

Funny ones and debates (although I try and just read those these days) Personally not keen on user above type threads and fabathons and any kind of moaning thread.

I'm guilty of a user above thread, started one earlier. I like any lighthearted thread or the ones that make me stop and think, change my opinion. The ones I don't like are the ones that turn into attacking/belittling/humiliating anyone, or kink shaming threads. Threads when kinks are discussed and someone will post "urgh not for me", then don't post and move on! Simples x

I love the secret service threads because there's huge amounts of love and positivity in them.

I'm a big fan of the PM game threads and the ones Transgirl starts about receiving a special message at a specific time: I don't tend to be a recipient but it allows me to pay compliments where I want without too much being read into them (they're just part of the game).

I've had some fantastic conversations from both of those with people I probably wouldn't have had the chance to get to know otherwise; they're both great ice-breakers.

I tend to avoid the "list 7 people you fancy" or the user above threads; I don't know most of the people so I have nothing to say, and I find them quite repetitive so I tend not to bother reading them either.

Anything that starts a good conversation, makes people smile and laugh and generally spreads some love.

I like the really weird ones where people who have never posted ask completely random questions and hilarity ensues.

I tend to be drawn to different ones depending on my mood.

I post on all types of different threads, just depends what peaks my interest at the time.

Emotion related ones

Advice

Heck I’ll comment on anything really but I try to stay away from argumentative ones.

And politics.

Ones that teach me something and make me think. The majority seem that be mindless gang banging likefests and group hugs. My mind needs a challenge and a few belly giggles innit.....

Yeah I don't like getting drawn into controversial subjects but Nora's secret service and fpf are good for getting to know the other forumites

I don't even mind controversial subjects, so long as they stay in the realm of discussion and both sides hearing and learning from the other, which I admit never lasts very long but still.
