On this site I've seen some profiles that are very short, but I have also looked at some that are maybe too long, can anyone please tell me which is, not so much right or wrong but more appealing.thanks.

Some of them are ridiculous. It's one thing finding out you're not what someone is looking for, it's something else entirely having to wade through an essay on likes, dislikes, wants and needs only to find you don't meet the requirements buried right at the end.

Glad I skipped to the end, would hate to have read the whole essay only to have that terrible news at the end of it all

Some long and most short profiles say almost nothing. I dont mind reading if it is entertaining.

If I see a profile that is very long I ignored it. Especially when it's end with the disclaimer

If its good reading then I don't mind if I get to the second paragraph and I'm yawning they should have made it short and sweet

I'm sure that they can be too long but it's subjective. People of low interest to you will be too long whatever.

With details, you have choice and fill in later profiles are much worse.

There's tons of choice here. Experiment with your own profile as well as how you do with others, to find your balance.

I don’t even bother with long never ending profiles. I start yawning when I read ‘I want this and I want that, blah blah blah’.

And yes the disclaimer is annoying. Who the hell started the Sydney university trend?

Don’t get me wrong though I’ve come across some fantastic profiles and do read them to the complete end even if I am not what they are looking for and I do compliment them too.

Oh and I’m a major pervert because I love getting an eyeful of the saucy pics as well

And perhaps get a new clock to hide behind as well.

I've tried to make mine as concise and clear as possible and to cover the stuff that's always going to be a hard no. It's worked to an extent, I do rarely get sent dick pics and I never have anyone ask me to provide other women for threesomes any more.

Yes they can. I don't mind if a good read or funny but often it's just a list of demands or a very long rant.

Profiles and how they are perceived can be subjective.

I've found over the years, especially working away from home, means I can have people viewing me from different locations.

Above all, I tend to put a fair bit of detail into my profile, covering all the basics that most readers want to know. It informs those who need to know, & those who don't.

I've had people comment on exactly what it says, suits them. There's little need to ask anything else of me.

People are free to express themelves in their profiles anyway they choose so there is not a right or wrong way. I personally would rather see a profile with just enough content to keep me interested and intrigued.

an interesting one, the long ones tend to be rants if the profile is long but contains humour and personality whats not to like, the standard mens lazy profile 'get in touch if you want to know more' just doesn't cut it be flamboyant embarass yourself make yourself get noticed otherwise you wont

Back of the bins.

Nope, we love a long one.

In all seriousness, I’m fed up with the ones that are overly aggressive, contain no information or just talk about fucking.

We’re here to make friends we can have fun with in and out of the bedroom. We need to know if you’re going to match with us intellectually emotionally and sexually!

Mine is pretty long, but I also tried to make it a little interesting.

The way I see it is, it's long for a reason. If people don't want to spend 5 minutes reading it then that's their choice, we just won't meet.

As always, it's a case of personal preference.

I tend not to read overly lengthy profiles, a neat concise outline of the personality and likes/dislikes is enough, you can find out the finer details while chatting

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

Length isn't so much the issue. The trick is to make the read captivating enough that you don't even notice that detail

I have had both long and short profiles, mine is currently very long as I have a lot of different interests and it answers questions I get asked repeatedly. It has got longer over many years.

Mine is long and I enjoy long ones too.

This is the place I always start , profile first, then pictures.

My profile is not finished yet and always a work in progress and live .(2nd version since creation over Xmas)

I'm quite new here, open to feedback and comments , public or private if you feel like a read , go ahead , read and send a private message with opinion , positive or negative.

No right or wrong on profiles.

Some hunt for pictures , some have a fantasy to fullfil that is purely visual ,some look for sex , some for connections also of the non sexual type .

Diversity makes this place and us unique .

Happy Fabbing , hope you will find whatever it is you're looking for

I don't mind reading a long profile provided it's not riddled with bad spelling or lacking punctuation.

I don't tend to read profiles that continually say NO NOT or NEVER over and over. I'm not on here for a bollocking.

Whats appealing to someone may not be to you or I,

Find those profiles that do appeal and movd swiftly on from those that don't.

It always surprises me some folk seem to concentrate on those that exclude rather than those that include.

I’ve seen some profiles that make War and Peace look like a pamphlet.

What is funny I have found is if I decide to message the person and they reply their reply is very brief and I wonder did someone write their profile for them or if they’re suffering from writers block. Haha

I do feel profiles should be a short essay as a person's profile has a lot to do with the content of the messages they get sent. The people I've been able to properly converse with on here are either off forum topics or off something interesting on their profile description.

This is partly my fault as I'm terrible at small talk IRL and would probably say nothing at all rather than ask banal questions.

What do you say when a profile is a list of dislikes or don'ts? "dick pics eh"

There and to the left a bit

Horses for courses really - what is one person's long and tedious, will be another's interesting and engaging - the key is finding both what works for you on your own profile, and profiles that interest you - there is no right or wrong way only your way

Naaa they are as long as the owner wants them to be ok they will put some people off mailing them but that their intention.

They area filter for the profile owner!

They cut down on mail.

They identify to the profile owner who is really interested.

The reality is in most cases the long profile owner is a smart cookie expecialy where its a woman's profile. Chancers and blaggers are put off so nope they can't be too long.
