You'd be more likely to encounter a "dirt bomb" carried by some nutter in a major city rather than a IcBM.

If I was near... Run to the point of impact.

After the horros of surviving a nuclear blast where explained to me in military training.

The idea of crawling around half dead in an irradiated blast site sound awful

Having said, a chap in Japan was caught up in the hiroshima bomb blast so he traveled to nagasaki only to be hit gain and survive

Tustomu yamaguchi ... for anyone who thinks THEY are having the worst day today

Hope I'd be able to get together with my loved ones as well as workout if there's anywhere for effective shelter - competing with millions of others.

I live a mile from GCHQ (ie, the Bullseye).

At least I'd have a front row seat... for the first millisecond, anyway.

There isn't a hole deep enough around here, to avoid it

Have you read "The Secret State" by Peter Hennessy?

He obtained declassified papers from the 1960s and 70s.

UK military planning assumptions of Soviet targets and the number and size of bombs earmarked for each.

Every military facility and every city hit with multiple fusion and fission bombs.

Annihilation.

I used to be in the ROC, back when the UK was as organized for the aftermath as it could be - which was more than you'd think; but still ridiculously inadequate.

The truth is you really are far better off being vaporized.

Indeed, I remember watching the film "Threads" and being utterly depressed afterwards!

None of my friends or family live close enough for one last hug, so

Steal a car even though I've never driven to one, drive to the nearest shop, steal a bunch of chocolate and fizzy pop and gorge myself on junk food.
