not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Quandry...

I've turned up for work ( at a pub the landlady is on holiday,) and the back doors have been left open all night... hooked back no bolts no padlock wide open..!!!

Do I tell the landlady.? If so when I could text her (I don't want to spoil the holiday ) Potentially getting the guy or girl sacked who should have locked up..

Do I tell the guy or girl they fu**ed up... and stay stumm with the landlady .

Any advice appreciated..

you confront the one who should have locked up first find out the facts then depending on this information you then tell landlady when she returns off holiday

I'm not sure who should have locked up.. i can't find the rota, I won't be here when the staff come on shift, depending who should have locked up I might not see them either..

If you are managing the place its your responsability.

If nothing has been stolen etc then have a word with ALL the staff who worked there about security and locking up.

I'd keep it on a need to know basis and play it cool and just say the bolts weren't in place, it'll save everyone a bollocking.

Don't confront anyone.

Just say , ' The doors were wide open when I got here this morning. Who was here before me?'

Everyone will get the message. You will have done nothing.

If nothing has been stolen or no one hurt then there is no need to tell the landlady until she gets back.

When she does get back all you say is. When I arrived on Sunday all the doors were wide open'

Can you prove they were wide open when you got there and that if anything was stolen it was stolen before you got there?

Tricky.

I know if it was me there is no way I'd be logging on to a swinging site to talk about it.

Call the police or who ever was on shift last night.

To be honest the whole set up sounds stupid. No rota's available. No training to know what to do.

Maybe someone opened up for you this morning.

P.S What ever you do. When ever you do it. Do NOT stay stum with the landlady.

She needs to know.

You won't get anyone sacked. Their own behaviour will.

If you don't tell then it's YOUR head on the block.

You could excercise your own moral compass and decide what's the right thing to do.

This was my thoughts, I'd call the police. How do you know nothing has been stolen. Protect your own job first and foremost.

Cheers for the advice people, I was going to mention it to the assistant manager she's on at 6 tonight and let her deal with it, , cat out of the bag the cleaner asked why these doors weren't padlocked , I mentioned of to her , apparently there's been instances of theft this week while the landladys been away as well .. text sent to landlady my bums covered as someone said their actions not mine got them into trouble,
