Being just a social.

I've had a fue socials now and I never go to a social expecting anything more than just a social witch is a good thing as everyone of them has ended with it being a social only anyway.

Now to me I enjoy the day/evening out.

Catch up with old friends and maybe make new friends to.

But if you went to a social.

Wood you be hoping for more than just a social or wood you be happy just to have a night out ?

Have you ever been left disappointed from a social ?

If you go to a fab social what do you think / expect to happen ?

Serious questions ?

Social, is just that.

Say hello, have a walk around and or coffee (did someone mention cake?)

For us a social is simply that. We have played afterward and not played. A straight after play is a bonus. But we enjoy meeting other people with a view to playing at a later date.

I never expect anything sexual from a 1 to 1 social, apart from a snog perhaps if we liked each other. From that alone I would know if I wanted to meet them again for sex or not.

Group socials are just that, unless you're travelling and happen to be sharing a room with someone you've chatted a lot with.

I have been left feeling disappointed more than once after a social, mainly because I didn't fancy them. It takes me ages to find guys who I think are suitable but who turn out not to be

If the boundaries are agreed up front, there's no need to be disappointed, unless one or more finds there's no attraction. But, you've only acknowledged each other to be superficially - possibly - compatible.

Enjoy what's agreed to.

A social is for me to see if I want to take things further in future.

A social is a social. It's a no pressure opportunity to get to know people, networking in a way I suppose, & a chance to chat with like minded people & possibly make friends.

I think a lot of single guys do see a social meet as an automatic prelude to something more though and that often leads to disappointment and frustration

From what I have heard, this.

For me it is just a time to get out, have a natter etc etc (as I have posted above)

Yup a social is just that. Usually a coffee, natter and to establish what everyone looks like in the flesh.

If it was a pre sex thing I'd call it foreplay

You have hit the nail on the head.

Iv had guys and a few couples who wouldn't agree to a social unless I guaranteed play.

Obviously I declined as like others have said, for me a social is just that.

We would never see something social as a disappointment. We focus on making contacts and building friendships. When the time is right, things will happen. If things don't happen it's just because that wasn't the right time.

Social is a social. A chance to meet someone interesting and new. A opportunity to share stories. I’ve had the odd one move on to more but I don’t expect anything else.

A social is to see if the connection that appeared to be online, is as good in the flesh. I never play on first meet, I need to see how they behave when I walk away. Any grabbing, sulking, bombardment by texts etc.

Social is just a social. To see if there is an attraction and connection and to meet new people.

I always make it clear its just that and not to expect anything else.

Good if it ends up with a good snog though.

It’s just a social, nothing more and nothing less. I don’t line anything up and I don’t get up to anything. I just enjoy socialising

I've always banged the same person, for the avoidance of doubt

.

I go to socials with the intent of having fun, seeing my friends and making new ones. I've never been to one with a +1 (apart from Lickety's birthday bash) and it's not something I would do - I want to mingle and have fun and not be thinking about where my next cocking is coming from.

I always make it clear when I meet someone for a social that is all it will be.

No confusion or dashed hopes that way for either person

Brighton - even Hove!

A social is a social. If men are involved i insist their hands are on the table at all times. I don’t approve of unnecessariness.

Personally, a social is just that for me but our Nottingham ones are held at Purple Mamba so after its ended, there is opportunity to play.
