I'm not the biggest thrash fan but Metallica and Slayer are two of the best bands I've ever seen live. If you asked me to name the ultimate heavy metal band my first thought would be Iron Maiden. Leather and long hair and horror overtones and guitar driven, bottom heavy music. But I like the fact metal can mean anything from Bon Jovi to Napalm Death. And spending the day with a bunch of metal heads is life at its finest. Never seen any kind of fight or row or trouble at a metal gig or festival. Nothing but giggles and good times.

Count me into the fold.......Slayer, Crowbar, Will Haven, Meshuggah, Pantera, Metallica, LoG, Korn....I like quite a mix of sub-genres.

That said, my tastes aren’t limited to just Metal; I like a lot of varied styles. Good music is good music.
