Does everyone know that Monday bank holiday in May has been moved to Friday 8th May

I know it’s for a good cause but business.s are complaining as this is their busiest day

Does it affect anyone on here or didn’t you know

It's not like it's been done at short notice. It was announced around June of last year.

It's a bit like businesses complaining that they're not prepared for brexit. That's just bad business management. Businesses should have begun preperations for brexit on 24th June 2016 and planned for all eventualities.

It doesn't affect me as I'm 0 zeros but it's wrong that they changed it last minute and didnt fully announce it.

It even says its 4th may in 2020 diary.

I have friends who have tried to change their annual leave because they made plans for the bank holiday but not been able to

It was announced last June. I don't consider that short notice.

It was announced after all the diarys were printed.

And alot of people have only found out about it over the past few weeks hence why I said "they didnt announce it properly" other wise this topic would have been put soon after it was changed instead of 7 months after

It was all over the news, social media and in the national press.

It's one day for a very good reason so I think people should just get on with it and stop moaning.

Aww.

That deserves a day all to itself.

Not pinching it from somewhere else.

Who was moaning about it?

I replied my opinion in response to the topic, as I'm entitled to.

I didnt say it wasnt for a good cause or they shouldnt have changed it

Speaking of "getting on with it" you could follow your own advice instead of looking for an arguement where there isn't one xo

That was the original plan but businesses didn't like the idea of having 2 bank holidays, now they are moaning it has been moved.

I think someone is reading far too much into a comment. Nothing personal so don't make it that way.

They do it for royal weddings so you would have thought it wouldn't be too much trouble.

Yes, the Establishment is taking the p*ss.

Yaayy, let's get all nostalgic about Churchill, WRENS, tea parties and the Blitz.

But you gonna have to give up your holiday!

Fook 'em.

They can celebrate alone.

More left wing I hate the West, Britain, whites, England, flags.

You are obviously troubled in the head, the vast majority of normal people will be happy to celebrate.

Businesses would have moaned even more with three bank holidays in May. Personally I think this is a good compromise. Still the same week just delayed four days
