Just simple and honest question! Why hide your profile?

Because you don't want people to see it at the moment. Maybe they're not meeting, or just don't want any more messages in their inbox.

I guess a lot of profiles don’t want to be approached, receive abuse when they’re not interested and may be taking a break from meeting so decide to hide their profile rather than delete their account.

They want a break.

They aren't meeting.

They just want to lark about in the forums and not get messages.

They have a meet/social arranged and don't want any other interest as they are interested in who they've been chatting to.

Embarrassed themselves and hiding as a result.

Or Someone is stalking or watching their profile.

It's when someone winks or sends friends requests and you click on their profile and its hidden ! that's what baffles us !

That's what I do sometimes.

The only thing I don't get is people who hide their profile but then sent out messages to meet. If I hide it's because I'm not meeting.

The above or they're not enjoying having their profile looked at by profiles outside their interests bracket

We get viewed at by an awful lot of single men and TV/TS profiles every day not to mention the wierd or clearly fake profiles Oh and that one from the single female journalist doing a documentary about swingers for channel 4!

How quickly did you message back? I messaged someone a month ago - about 10 days ago I hid my profile for a few days - and then she replied to me - (fuming btw) to ask why my profile was hidden!!! LOL!

There's always another side to a story! Personally, I thought it was quite funny how narked she was. Anyway, she hasn't blocked me.

I don’t message back if it shidden I block them

Usually I read messages the same day

If I don’t reply there and then when I open a message the I don’t go back later to respond as I just keep working though the inbox, it’s like fighting fire getting through them sometimes even with an arsey profile like mine

Usually I read messages the same day

Just block them then on filters! You message who you like. Problem solved! No fighting fire involved! Then you can have a profile that's not "arsey" (as you called it).

I hide my profile when we need a break from FAB, btw OP.

I've been known to hide my profile on occasion. Sometimes because I was seeing someone outside of Fab, sometimes because work/life was too busy and sometimes because I was just tired of the Fab grind and needed a break. Beats deleting your profile and having to make a new one six weeks later, doesn't it?

Yes, mine becomes fake when I hide it and I transform into NSAdude, then real again when I unhide it.

Sometimes I like to hide my profile so I can have a break but what baffles me is my I still show online. If I'm hidden this should not happen. I might just want to check messages from friends without being bombarded or having to mess about with my message filters x

We are concentrating on meets as a couple so my single's profile is hidden with all blocked so I can't receive messages there. I don't want messages being sent and me not logging on to read / reply. Mrs x
