sorry if this was talked about last night but didn't see a topic on it....

saw the 1st part of two last night on autism, and next weeks is on dementia...

last night's programme was brilliant and the best one i have seen of his in a long while... i am a huge fan but was so impressed how the subject was approached and the people in the film....

if you get a chance to see it on the iplayer i really hope that you do....

really looking forward to next weeks...

okay.. just bumping this one up... just watched the documentry he did on dementia and it was fantastic... touching,heartbreaking and a side to it you don't always see... brilliant work and if you didn't get a chance to watch it... go to the iplayer!

We've recorded them both but have yet to watch them.

Autism and dementia both affect our family so we're looking forward to seeing the programmes.

Very good programe on dementia, it shows the issues people have with this but it also underlines the problems we face in society in relation to dementia. You should never ever lie to someone about thier position in life so the idea of white lies is just astounding to say the least. We never lie to our service users. tell the truth even if it means telling them 1000 times a day.

Its a problem that there is not answer to at this moment but people need to understand. I hope people see these programes and understand more.

Putting people in an institution is so wrong for these people, they need as much input as possible from surroundings that are known. Their own homes are the best place for them.

Brilliant series and tonights made me cry, what an awful desease.

Last weeks on autism was great and what a fantastic school.well dont the yanks for that

I watched both of them. Those parents that have autistic kids deserve medals. Tonights program was very touching - true love in its purest form.

Last nights on dementia was very good and having a relative with dementia that is in a care home I felt that it seems the usa have a very different approach than the care homes that I have witnessed have !

They seem very happy and are interacted with and treated with respect where as this side of the pond they seem to be treated like cash cows and left in chairs / beds and drugged up to the nines so they don't need much bothering with !

Another program to catch up on was panorama this week that broached that very same subject and shows a stark difference in cultures !

Thanks to louis tho light has been brought to people who have no dealings with dementia so at least they can see how it affects families and yes that tiny split second where confusion and the unknown turn into recognition and love are worth more than anything you can buy

I watched last weeks and fought the tears back most of the way thru.

I haven't watched last nights yet cos I haven't got any hankies in - I have a feeling I may need them

I thought Louie was an unusual person for what is essentially a serious subject and he really put things across well. It was sensitively done so full marks to the programme makers.
