We always say good morning to dog walkers and walkers when we’re out walking. Wondering ‘does that make us old’

I want to know what old people you're finding, all the old people i come across seem to give off the vibe that they want to destroy my entire generation.

As a Northerner who emigrated down south I have become accustomed to not greeting people. I have to do a yearly pilgrimage up north just to feel human again. Folk up north will shoot the breeze with you, it's good for your well-being and mental health.

I was surprised when I first moved to my village how many people say morning when walking the dog, including teenagers.

I see a lot of that here in the channel islands. Everyone is polite and courteous. It's like a 1950's english village!

They really are! My favourite thing about older people is that they always make an effort when they leave the house, always a shirt and more often than not a tie too, I love that.

The Town by The Cross

How patronising LOO.

Their friendliness isn't just down to age.

Besides the same person will cut your balls off if you park in front of their house

Leeds

When we were first looking at the house we now live in, we thought we’d have a walk around the neighbourhood and get a feel for the place. We were stopped three times by older people, gardening, for a natter and then two young girls were selling cupcakes on their driveway to raise money for charity. We put an offer in the next day

It only takes a second to be warm and lovely to someone, even strangers, and it makes your day. More smiles, people, the world needs more smiles

Hiding from twats

I always say hi to people when I'm out with the dogs and so does my 14 year old. It's nice to have a natter with folks on walks. I know all the local dogs' names, not a clue when it comes to the owners?
