Does anyone have any?

Just recently found out about Jenni Lee and Hannah Hays. Both of their stories are pretty heart breaking.

Jenni is a gambling addict who got hooked on crystal meth and lives in the Las Vegas storm drains.

Hannah has a learning disability and it turns out she had it before she joined the industry. She was involved in a car crash when she was 16 and got into the industry at 18 (I think). I'm guessing the crash is why she has a learning disability.

I feel bad for both of them, but especially Hannah since it's hard to know if she really knew what she was getting herself into. I hope she did and I hope she loves what she does, but I feel uncomfortable knowing that her agents got her jobs despite knowing that she has a learning disability. It just feels like she was a vulnerable young girl being exploited and I really hope that wasn't the case.

I don't think I could watch their videos anymore now that I know more about them.

Is her story sad because she has a learning disability, because she was in a car crash, or both?

Exploitation of the vulnerable and those who feel they have little choice are common in the porn industry. That's why my husband and I don't watch it.

If there's a chance that the people in the video have been coerced in some way then I don't want any part of that.

(I'm not interested in having a debate with anyone over this, it's just my personal view)

Exploitation of the vulnerable and those who feel they have little choice are common in the porn industry. That's why my husband and I don't watch it.

If there's a chance that the people in the video have been coerced in some way then I don't want any part of that.

Theirs 3 or 4 adult actors / actresses over the years that have taken their own life though been in the business, And people think it all money and fame and fortune what about mental health its a job at the end of the day for male and female actors, Been in that industry must play with your head as your a actor at the end of the day but to commit suicide makes you think !

As much as no-one likes to hear about exploitation of individuals, in a generic way, why merely pick on the porn industry. The music industry is littered with exploitation and abuse, as is the film industry itself (how about Harvey Weinstein as a modern example) and no-one says they don't watch film or listen to music due to exploitation. The comic industry is rife with exploitation of talent.

In terms of porn no-one talks about the talent in the industry who have their bills paid by doing the work.

Is not the issue with porn is that some of it reflects the sexism and misogyny within society rather than being evil of itself.

These days in porn with pay clips people are in control of their own movies.

Too many people just respond on the basis of their own prejudices. Personally I think the exploitation of staff by Philip Green and John Ashley are equally relevant which is why I no longer shop at Sports Direct or shops owned by Philip Green.

I couldn’t agree more - having ”dabbled” in the sex industry, there is much more exploitation going on in big business on a much larger scale then there is in the porn industry. An example: an elected MP recently said that people with learning difficulties should not get as much benefits because don’t understand the concept of money.

Exploitation exists where ever people can take advantage of others. It is talked about in porn because porn is a ’sexy/interesting’ subject to talk about, not because it is more prevalent or widespread.
