How many guys get annoyed when they finally meet a woman who’s 10 years older than her fab photos or looks nothing like in the flesh, are us guys guilty of that also?

The number of women who complain about getting messed around on here / played - while they are the furthest from the image they project of themselves.. is there a link?

I for one prefer more natural photos.. what you see is what you get. Nobody wants mutton dressed as lamb.

Agree?

Yes, men do it too, surprisingly often.

What does mutton dressed as lamb actually mean in relation to your post op?

Some of the people we've met haven't been how their profile represents them but the vast !majority have.

Happened to me. I arranged a social and walked in. I didn't recognise her but as I was walking out (thinking I'd been jibbed off) she called my name. Got the shock of my life.

Ever the gent I stayed for the social and we both went our separate ways.

It's never happened to me before, I tend to pay attention to how old people's pictures are, how many they have, angles etc, and I wouldn't go through with meeting someone unless I was very confident they were who they portrayed.

Most of the complaints I read about are of people who don't show up at all, so that wouldn't have anything to do with photos being recent or not.

There is that too, if someone was a wee bit shorter, thinner, fatter, older... by that point I wouldn't really mind, unless there was a drastic misrepresentation.

I think it's natural to want to project the best image of yourself on here, and flattering angles and lighting in photos are all part of that. If someone has photoshopped ten years or ten stone from themselves, though, I'd agree that's taking it too far! I think both sexes can be guilty of it.

Well someone pretending to be something they’re not.. if your curvy, taking phones from above as you gaze at the stars may hide it.. but meeting someone in a bar won’t. (Not that I have a problem with curves, it’s an example).

It happens to both sexes that people misrepresent themselves. I've met guys who were at least 10 or 15 years older than they claimed to be and a guy who was a lot heavier than his pics were. I wouldn't have minded had they been truthful but they lied to get a meet so it stayed as just coffee.i use colour filters on my pics sometimes but apart from that my pics represent me. Yes they are taken at the best angles but I always tell anyone I'm chatting to that I am a size 16 and have wobbly bits. There is no point in lying because the minute you meet they will know anyhow.

To be honest, everyone is going to take photos at their best angles. Surely we all know this by now? Whether you are a man or a woman or anything in between. But yeah, I don't have time for filters or snapchat dog faces and the like.

I take notice of how old the pictures are of someone I’m meeting, but most I’ve meet are like their pictures or better.

My pictures are me and in friends and wrinkles on show. No point hiding who you are, it’s just nonsense. The only comment I ever seem to get is about my height

Think most people you've never met look different in real life to their photos as still images leave alot to the imagination. People's mannerisms etc can effect how they are appear. I hate all pictures of myself, but they are there, with my username, to give an as accurate as possible portrayal of who I am. Appearance isn't everything though and have been told by quite a few people that I'm better than I appear in my profile. Attended a group social evening a little over a year ago where the host left me a lovely veri saying pretty much that. Unfortunately she had a break from fab and profile (and therefore veri) for scrubbed. Still shows in summary but the wording hads gone

I prefer to meet people at group socials and let them make their own mind up. My profile is honest and current. If I’m meeting one on one I’ll generally show multiple live pics to show me in a more natural light. I’d rather put someone off that pretend I’m something I’m not.

On meeting him he was at least 15 years older with awful teeth he looked shocking.. Hubby was very polite and had a drink with him but it went no further.

Suck tummy in, lean back a bit, stretch up, photo from above or below to get the most flattering angle, we are all guilty of it to some extent, myself included, but my pictures are a pretty good representation of the real me.

Though have been told the reality is better than the pictures I still don't believe it.

Sometimes it isn’t the photos at fault but the persons perception and imagination that’s the problem. You could meet people that think you are just like your photos and others that think you’re not. Be realistic in your expectations and don’t just see what you want to see. That’s how I look at it.

Think there are males, couples and females who try this.

I had a social meet,many years ago

He claimed to be 37 then, but was actually closer to 50 and it showed.

It didn't go further as I don't like lies in any form, his pics were obviously years out of date, but he had uploaded them not long before our meet.

Sadly people will try and make themselves look better/younger to get a meet .I don"t know how they think they will carry it off when they meet .

I usually use photos that are mediocre, so there's just pleasure when meeting. I think most people ive met have looked much better in the flesh.

Guys sometimes take pics of their cocks at certain angles that suggest exaggerated length and dimensions. If we're sensible, we can exchange pertinent information before deciding who to meet with.

As many use photoshop or equivalents now, I often assume that many of the more professional looking pics have been adjusted with such tools.

Yes, this is very true. In all my years on here, I've only met two people who have looked as I imagined, that's not to say people have looked better or worse, just different. Photoshopping yourself to a size 12 when you're a 26 is ridiculous obviously but I get flattering angles.

Yeah, I met a guy once, he claimed to be early 40s, and I liked the look of him but he told me on the social that his age was 15 years out.

If he'd been honest (or it'd been maybe up to five years out) it might have gone further...
